Will Vaughan POV
My phone lit up from beside my stack of uncompleted homework.
"That must be Evie", I muttered. I slid the phone off the desk, and tucked my knees to my chin. I absentmindedly flicked through the phone, before I came to Evie's text.
Evie: Maccas at 3?
I stared at the text blankly, silently debating wether I should respond or not. 'I wonder if anyone else is going.' I thought, watching as three dots came up under Evie's name.
Evie: Make sure that Matilda doesn't find out about this. Alright?
I hesitated, not knowing what to say in reply. I looked over at the dusty clock on my wall, reading it carefully. '2:49..' My hands quivered over the keyboard, starting to type a reply.
Will: Sure, I'll be there in 10.
I sighed, taking a deep breath. I leant back against my chair and rubbed my eyes. Right. Maccas.
Something didn't feel write. It wasn't butterflies, it was like a deep feeling in my gut something was about to go wrong.
I was getting ready to head off to Maccas, my older brother's Steve and Olly called out to me.
"Where are you going Will?" The oldest, Steve asked from the kitchen.
"Just to Maccas, want anything?" I replied. I heard Olly scoff and peak his head through the window.
"Can you get me a Frozen Coke and small chips?" He asked me. "Uh right, anything for you Steve." Steve just stayed silent shortly replying afterwards with a cold, "no."
I walked out grabbing my eshay wanger banger scooter and started riding down to Maccas.
... Timeskip
My phone pinged as I was riding down to the Maccas cafe.
"Evie, I bet," I sighed, putting on my cool asf eshay mask, I rode my banger wanger tanger langer scooter up to the bike stand and put my bike lock on it.
I opened the door looking at my surroundings seeing if I could spot her dirty blonde hair in the crowd.
Thats when I spotted her, sitting at a booth facing the other seat, picking at her food. I decided to order later and sat in front of her, ready to start striking up a conversation.
"Heyy, you came early", she smirked, and started drinking her frozen coke, not taking her eyes off me.
"Uh yeah, Its not very swag wag to come late when someone is waiting for you." I scratched the back of my neck. I hated small talk.
"Sooo, you gonna sit down or.." She signalled her hands to sit in the booth opposite her.
I guess I can order later..
Sitting down, Evie put her phone face down on the table and rested her head on her palms.
"So tell me more about yourself.." She looked at me and bit her lip. It made me a bit uncomfortable and I couldn't tell why.
"Well we have been going to school together since Kinder.." I said under my breath, rubbing the nape of my neck. I averted eyes with her, as I heard a small breathy chuckle coming from her lips.
"You're so funny!" She said confidently, a little bit too confidently. I let out an awkward laugh, fiddling with my fingers under the table.
I felt a strange feeling in my gut. 'Was coming here the right idea?', I thought, biting my lip slightly. Of course I'm regretting it now. I shouldn't have replied..
"Hey, you sound nervous. You alright cutie?" Evie said, resting her head onto the palms of her hands. I flinched at the name, obviously feeling very uncomfortable. I smiled nervously, and looked for a way to escape.
"I-i'm going to go order", I stuttered, plastering a fake smile on my face as I left.
A bead of sweat dripped down my forehead as I snuck a glance back at Evie, who was staring at me, grinning widely. There was something in her eyes, like hunger, and and violent desire. I found myself not concentrating on what I was ordering, but instead on what had just happened.
Shit.
