Syren ran to his supply pony grabbed his battered old shield and rusty sword. In the fighting position his father had taught him. His father was a guard for his village until the a army of mounted men came over the hill side. Snap out of it Syren thought only remembering the task at hand. His armour was a hide vest and pants torn and dirty. He saw a total of three men approaching two with swords one with a bow. The training his father gave him as a boy was limited but better than nothing. The first bandit swung at him losing his balance. Syren brought his shield up just in time to block it. His reaction time was slow from his travels but the fight went on. As did the unrelenting swings of the bandits sword. With one last desperate swing upwards he felt impact. Unable to see his result he got back up to see the bandit lying dead on the dirty ground he looked forward, right and left unable to see the second swordsmen until he felt a sharp steel object slice a short line up the heel of his left foot to the opposite side of his knee. I would have gone further but the bandit felt the other foot kick him in the chest. As Syren limped around to meet his new foe. The bandit still dazed felt by the stunning. All of a sudden the world felt cold and the turned black. He looked down only to see his rugged vest soaked in his own blood as blood puree out of that mammoth size slash across his chest. Then Syren being relived until he had one a arrow shaft stuck in his back. He turned around only to catch another arrow in his shield. Limping as fast as he could Syren approached. The archer stood his ground until Syren was on top of him with one last slash the battle was won. He heard footsteps behind him he turned around to see another man standing behind him. His sword came to the man's throat. The man said "there is no need for that I am merely a mechant of our dear Uthranx. How about we get this arrow out of you and patch up those cuts?" As Syren felt reason he followed the merchant to his home.
