White ceiling, white beddings, blue dots on my white patient gown, a white wall with a clear window. The only different color is the light brown curtain that hangs on each side of the window and unfolded every time I slept at night and the small sofa that matches the color of the curtain.

The beeping sound of the machine beside my bed to monitor if I am still alive, the wires and some kind of apparatus that hanging and linking in my body. The oxygen hose on my nose to help me breathe, the weak beating of my heart that almost none.

My heart was diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy.

It didn't beat for me properly, it didn't help my system to give me a normal life. It's hallowed and weak beating that the doctor's stethoscope failed to catch sometimes.

"We are on stage four Master Briggs, we need to do the transplant as soon as possible. We already inquired of any donor that will match yours but sadly we can't find anything. " The doctor said with pity in his eyes.

I smile at him and nod.

"It's fine, maybe it's time for me to go. " I said in a weak voice made him close his eyes and lower his head.

Though I want to live long, fate didn't allow me. So I had to accept this and leave this place with a light heart. My last will is already signed, so there is nothing to do here anymore. Indeed, money can't buy everything.

I heard the doctor's footsteps leaving the room, I took a deep breath but it felt like I only inhale a little.

Tomorrow is my last day as per the doctor's say, If I close my eyes right now I don't know if I woke up again to see the sunlight. But my head is spinning and my eyelids felt heavy, the vagueness of my surrounding enveloped my senses. The beeping sound slowly fading but why do I hear the sound of a chirping bird.

Darkness meets me, with a sound of a drop of water that I don't know which part of the darkness it came from. I felt like floating when in fact I am standing.

I heard light footsteps coming my way, slowly the light blinded my eyes. A woman standing there with her radiant sweet smile. Her long wavy ebony hair flowed down to her back.

"Go back, tell him I love him so much. Tell him I am happy, that he doesn't need to worry. " I heard her say. She wave her hand and giggled.

My hand move on its own to reach for her, but the light swallowed her and she is still smiling.

I left alone again in the abyss darkness, she said to go back but how. I look around again and silent is all I heard, I touch my chest to feel my heartbeat but it's empty.

I lower my head and a teardrop, it has the same sound that I heard earlier. The sound of teardrops but who is crying earlier.

I took another step and I heard a man's cry. I look around calling for anyone that might share this darkness with me but no one answered.

"Go back..." That voice again.

A light shines and I turn around but that's all, I lose all my consciousness again.

Hours earlier...

The continuous beeping of a straight line made the man wail in agony. Holding his wife's hand that is still warm, never wanted to let go, still begging her to come back.

The doctor already stated the time of death but the man is still kneeling beside the bed pouring his tears.

"What will I do without you Amia? Our child needs you. " He said kissing his wife's hand.

His attention diverted to a crying child beside him, his baby is reaching his hand to him as if it wanted to be touched by him. His tears fall abundantly as he stares at the newborn child. His wife sacrifices her life just to deliver their child safely to this world.

As he reaches for his child, the crying stop. He stares at his wife's face.

"You are smiling sweetheart, Thank you and I love you so much. I promise to protect our child and give him the love that he deserved. I love you Amia. " The man said and lean to kiss his wife's lips for the last time.

His eyes are swollen but the tears keep falling.

The nurse takes the child again to fully check, and he is just like a robot who just concedes to whatever they asked him to do.

"Luan, " The gentle voice of a woman called the man's name.

He lifts his head and there he saw his mother-in-law smiling at him. He can't stop himself but cried again.

"Son, Amia knew this will happen, so don't blame yourself, please. " The woman said while patting his back.

"Be strong, Lu. Your baby needs you. You have to be strong, Amia will not be happy seeing you like this. We are still here. We are still a family. " The husband said and kissed Luan's forehead.

They were hugging each other when the doctor approached them.

"Mr. and Mrs. Tolero? " the doctor asked.

"Yes, doctor? " Mrs. Tolero answered.

"I'm sorry mam but this is urgent so I need to explain it here, I am Doctor. Ann Caballer. I am a nutritionist of Mrs. Amia Montana. She signed a paper that she will give her heart to someone who urgently needs it and she is an exact match for someone who is dying in the emergency room right now. I just need your signature to start the transfer. " Doctor Ann said that made the family look at her in shock.

"What did you say? " Luan said in a high-pitched voice.

The doctor looks at him and grabs a paper on the metal envelope and hands it to him.

"I believe you are the husband of Amia, this is for you. " Doctor Ann nod at him encouraging him to read the paper.

"To my beloved husband, Luan.
I know it will surprise you about my decision to donate my heart to someone who needs it, and I'm sorry. I wanted to ask you to grant this wish of mine that even if I am no longer with you my heart is still beating and give a chance for someone to live longer.

Sweetheart, I love you so much. Take care of our baby boy. Can you name him Felix? It means fortunate and happiness.

Luan closed his eyes tightly, how can his wife decide like this without consulting him.

"I'm sorry sir, but we need your decision right now. You can ask me anything after this. I promise I will explain everything. " Doctor Ann said.

Luan looks at his wife's parents.

"Is it okay if I will be the one to sign it? " Mrs. Tolero said.

Doctor Ann nod immediately.

Luan watches the scene unfold in front of him. His wife suffered from ovarian cancer. They just find out about it when she conceived. Though the doctor advised them to give up the baby, that it will be dangerous if they continue the pregnancy but Amia insisted that she will keep the baby.

And now, they find out that his wife wanted to donate her heart to someone who needs it. All of it is just too much for him.

Mr. and Mrs. Tolero hug him again after the doctor left in a hurry.
