One Piece belongs to Eiichiro Oda and not me.
"Snake princess we got the last of the loot on the ship" Marguerite said a little fidgety as she nervously made her way to inform one of the seven warlords of the sea and ruler of the all female nation also known as the most beautiful women in the world, Pirate Empress Boa Hancock.
"Well done, set course for Amazon, Lily. This expedition has gone on longer than it needed to" Hancock said in a firm and commanding tone.
"Yes Snake princess right away" Marguerite said, however she couldn't hide the shakiness that was present in her voice.
"Is something the matter, Marguerite?"
"Um Well...." She began anxiously.
"You know there is no use in fumbling , I am not so foolish that I wouldn't suspect something is wrong when you are being unusually timid" Hancock said sternly.
"I apologize Snake princess, It's just that I would like to take sole responsibility for a failure in the raid as I was the one to lead the girls, I would like to request their pardon" Marguerite said nervously.
Hancock simply raised an eyebrow. "What failure?"
"Well.... We let the men we fought get away, ever since we met Luffy, we have been more hesitant to kill men. This is the first time men escaped from the slaughter, and we didn't put the effort to give chase," Marguerite said slowly.
The Kuja Pirates have a policy of killing all male pirates they fight with, regardless of circumstances or pleading from the men. This was initiated by Hancock herself when she came to power, as she saw all men as demons who waste oxygen for others, and it wasn't questioned.
For the Amazons Men were strangers and warriors have no mercy for strangers whom they are enemies of.
Hancock's eyes lit up momentarily at the mention of Luffy, but then quickly said "I understand. You and the girls in your command will not face any consequences for this error, however, keep in mind that other men are not like Luffy, you don't need to hesitate when killing them" She said in her usual empress tone though there was a hint of softness in it.
"Yes... yes snake princess" Marguerite said, a little taken back that Hancock wasn't being harsh and showing a sympathetic side that she hasn't seen before.
Truthfully, Hancock hasn't been the same since the day Luffy unceremoniously crashed into her life figuratively and literally by sheer coincidence, though she still maintains her cruel and arrogant persona, there have been subtle changes that people didn't notice at a first glance.
Though she still hates those who disrespect her by building mud statues or dare to capture her divinely emanated beauty in filthy paintings, she won't go out of her way to destroy them. She is also less likely to kick kittens and grumpy grandmas over pettiness.
Hancock made her way to the Captain's quarter to rest, the last few weeks have been eventful. Even if her hate for the World Government run deeper than whatever the Marianna's trench equivalent is in One Piece, she enjoyed the perks that came with being a warlord.
One being that she can protect her people and also provide for her people by given sanction to kill men and pillage their wealth and property. How can a misandrist not appreciate the package?
Even with the conveniences, she also felt habitually suffocated to be anyway associated with a system that has broken her being, a system that turns a blind eye and directly enables the evil that has haunted her nightmares and even when she wakes up from it drenched in cold sweat, she can't escape the claws of the demon because she still has that heinous mark on her back that reminds her that the nightmare is not over, the nightmare is in a blur because as long the mark is there, It will hold her hands forcefully even when she screams and tries to let go.
