I looked up at the blinding light that was the sun. "Almost there," I panted. My hands grasped the rusty ladder as I climbed up towards the surface. Chester meowed as I squeezed myself out of the small entrance to Down There.

My mind instantly cleared up as I took a breath of fresh air. The warmth gave me goosebumps on my arms. "This is wonderful," I said to Chester. Then I looked around. There was dust and rubble everywhere. Remnants of human bones were scattered on the ground.

"Oh no. What happened?" I asked Chester, as if he could answer.

"It was a car," a voice called out. I screamed. There has never been anyone else here since the accident. "Calm down," I said to myself. This is a time to learn what really happened.

"A car? How could a car do all of this?" I said to the voice.

Just then, a boy stepped out from behind the rubble of a building.
