jimin's pov.
we were wearing the same outfits as training. i looked at the tube i needed to step in. it was going to bring us to the actually challenge. which i still didn't know what it was. i took a deep breath. all i practiced on was knife throwing and my climbing skills. everyone was just making fun of me. i was weak to them. little did they know. i wasn't giving my hardest. the tube goes up and i saw a giant obstacle. bows and knife on each end. "good morning competitors. this is bows and knifes. hears how it works." a voice said booming through the mics.
"one at a time. you have 3 minutes to get across and grab a bow or knifes. touch the ground. you'll have to start over. if you make it to the end. you have one shot and one shot only to one other person. they are not to move or dodge the weapon. this is all about aim. before the shot is give. the person who is chose get 30 second to hide. if hit they will be killed or injured. we won't be finishing the job. you will. each of you will pull a number." the voice boomed and a woman walked out with a jar. we each grabbed one. mine said 7. "on the circles in front of you are numbers stand on your chosen number." i slowly made my way to the 7 spot.
"can everyone see the screen."
"yeah." we all said in unison.
"a random number will come up. the one on that number will go first." he said and the number on the screen rapidly scrolled through. it stopped on 9.
"will the person on 9 step to the start." an alpha female stepped up. "what number do you wish to target." the voice said and she looked at each of us.
"number 4." she said.
"will that person go to the hiding area." the beta was shaking as he stepped towards the spoken area. "3 minutes on the clock. begin." she started climbing and crawling. she didn't even make it to the end. "both are safe for now. head back to your circles. next is..." the number started scrolling. "7 please step to the start." i moved forward and some of the alphas even some betas chuckled or whispered weakling. "chose your target.
"number 2." i said without hesitation. he picked on me the most. he moved to the area confidentially. i took my stance.
"3 minutes on the clock. began." the voice said and i hopped over logs and crawl quickly. the mud under one log slowing me down. it was like quicksand but there was a hard bottom. i made it through and i had just made it to the end. "pick your weapon." he said and i grabbed the bow. an arrow was handed to me. "your target will be attempting to hide. 30 seconds on the clock. hide." he said and he quickly looked around but his body was just too big. "time. number 7. take your aim." he said and i draw it back. i smirked as his head was poking out a bit. i aimed for just in front of his nose. i let the string go and it just barely grazed his nose.. he flinches back in shock. "that's a miss. back to your circles." i walk back passing him.
"that was a warning shot." i said and he froze. i go on my circles and i get splashed with water. i gasped as it was scolding hot. i let out a yell of pain.
"oh did i mention that you get dumped with boiling water if you miss your shot." the voice said as i fall to my knees tears were falling from my eyes. "so you guys get it right." he said as the screen scrolled through. 3. he stepped forward.
"number 7" he said and i struggled to stand up. i was in so much pain. 3 minutes started as a horn goes off. i just took deep breaths trying to fight this pain. he makes it. he chose a knife. i started struggling to hid behind a small stump. i hugged my knees and the knife hit the ground next to me.
"that's a miss." he said and we make our way back. he lets out a scream as he was dumped with the burning water. i was shaking at this point. after 3 more round. the first kill happened. number 6 was dead. an alpha. he was caught cheating. "cheating was caught. it will be met with death." he said and the screen started scrolling. i walked forward and i could tell i was physically shaking with pain.
