George Anthony Tolentino Gabriel has been passionately serving the Lord in the Catholic renewal movement for over two decades. Since his youth, he has developed himself as a writer, resource speaker, retreat master, worship leader, corporate trainer and facilitator, stage performer, speaking coach, and event director.
His parents brought him to the Bukas-Loob sa Diyos Covenant Community when he was 12 years old. There, he gave his life to God through a Youth Life in the Spirit Seminar. He actively served as a facilitator, music minister, and worship leader throughout his youth and single adult life. For many years, his family served as presenters in the Family Encounter program. George believes this is the greatest privilege his family has ever been given — to be able to testify together to the marvels the Lord has done in their lives, and to witness other families transformed by the love of God. He continued serving in these ministries when he later moved on to the Serviam Catholic Charismatic Community.
His longtime dream of working full-time for the Lord came true in 2007 when he was called to serve in the Light of Jesus Family under the leadership of Filipino Catholic lay preacher and bestselling author, Bo Sanchez, whose mission is to evangelize the “unchurched” through creative inspirational media and by building prayer gatherings called The Feast all over the world. George is currently one of the community’s leaders and overall worship director. He is also creative director of the organization’s broadcast media arm, Shepherd’s Voice Radio and TV Foundation; and editor-in-chief of FiSH: The Zany Side of Loving God under Shepherd’s Voice Publications, Inc., thrice named Best Youth Magazine at the Catholic Mass Media Awards in the Philippines. He is a contributor for Didache, a daily devotional for Catholics, and is the author of two books: Love Life: Embrace the person, the moment, the experience, which received the Cardinal Sin Book Award at the 33rd Catholic Mass Media Awards in the Philippines for Best Youth and Children’s Book; and Live Life: Making the Most of God’s Greatest Gift by Experiencing Each Day to the Full.
He regularly appears on the daily Internet program Preacher in Blue Jeans, and preaches every Sunday at The Feast at the Philippine International Convention Center and at Light Thursdays at Fully Booked, Bonifacio High Street. He is also the lead singer of the Christian band, Zach’s Tree.
He graduated with a degree in Communication from the Ateneo de Manila University and has been affiliated with several cause-oriented organizations such as the Jesuit Volunteers Philippines (JVP), Habitat for Humanity International, and Triumphant People’s Evangelistic Theatre Society (TRUMPETS).
George’s foremost calling is to communicate the love of God creatively, excellently, and passionately, whether through music, media, or speech. But ultimately, he believes the Gospel is best shared by loving others as Jesus did.
Amidst his numerous roles and responsibilities, he feels most blessed and honored to be married to the girl of his dreams, Dinah Chikiamco-Gabriel. They live in Manila, Philippines.
