The beach is sandy and stretches far, people are already scattered along the shore. I walk quicker to catch up to Nick, sliding my hand in his on instinct. He laughs, looking down at me. "You're so short."

"You're just tall."

"I like this angle though, you look good."

"You just like it because you can see down my shirt."

He hums, smiling. "That's just a perk." He always says things like this but he respects me, I already know he wouldn't do anything to make me uncomfortable or hurt me. We walk to an empty part of the beach and set our things down before Nick's taking off my shirt. "Lindo."

"What does that mean?"

"Pretty."

"Nick, hands off my son." Dad warns from beside us where he's setting up a chair.

Nick raises his hands above his head. "Sorry, Mr. Jacobs." I drop my shorts in the sand and pull my bikini bottom over my hips.

"Good boy."

I laugh, pushing Nick. His stomach is hard and he barely moves, before he looks at me and starts making big strides toward me. He leans down and grabs the backs of my thighs, picking me up. I hold onto his shoulders. "No." I whine. "I don't want to go in yet."

He sticks his bottom lip out mockingly, bouncing me up and fixing his grip on my thighs. "Ready?" He smiles as he stands in the clear water that's up to his waist. My ass is barely in the water. "Hold your breath." I expect him to throw me, instead, he bends his knees and dunks down underwater with me. When he decides we should come back up, he laughs and slides my thighs out of his hands.

I wipe my eyes before looking at him. "You're a dick."

"Oh come on." He smirks, running a hand through his hair. His skin is the perfect tan color, it looks gorgeous by his chocolate eyes. He put his hands on my sides, looking over my shoulder. "Vete a la mierda." He yells in angry spanish.

I turn, following his eyes to a group of guys in the water near us. I frown. "What?"

"Nothing." He pulls me toward him and switches how we're standing so I'm behind him.

"Oh vamos queremos divertirnos con la chica." One of them calls back.

"Stay right there, lindo." He tells me over his shoulder. "Ah-ah." Nick stops the guy that's came over. "That's mine." They speak spanish to each other for a bit. "Go back to the shore, Jacobs." Nick tells me harshly.

I obey, when I'm to ankle deep water I run into the sand and to Dad. "What the hell is he doing?" Dad asks, watching Nick.

"I don't know what happened, they're speaking Spanish." I tell Dad worriedly.

"Sit down." Sophia tells me. "Nick's got it under control." At least, that's what she thinks before Nick punches a guy in the gut. "Luis." Sophia grabs Dad's hand as Dad stands up.

"I know, I got it." He takes off his shirt, revealing a six pack. He wades out into the water, grabbing Nick's forearm and dragging him away, two guys have bloody noses and ones still crouched over and clutching his stomach. "What'd I tell you?" Dad asks Clay.

"No more fighting." Nick murmurs.

"And what did you do?"

"I did it for a good reason!"

"What was that? They were annoying you?"

"No, they were harassing him then I talked to them and they kept saying things about him." Nick points to me while he talks angrily. "I need a break." He states before turning and starting toward the cliff at the end of the beach.
