Author's POV
Sangyeon meets up with Jacob after coming out of his father's office. He has known the younger for a while. Not very closely but still they had worked together. It was a bit awkward at first because they haven't really talked that closely. "So.. I heard you have talked to my dad, so I am guessing you are in with his plan." Sangyeon says. Jacob nods. "I hope sir's idea works out." He says
"Dad says you will be getting them?" Sangyeon questions. "Yeah. I have to escort them to the house outside the city which sir has bought for us to use during this mission." Jacob says.
Sangyeon nods. "So when will it be?" He further questioned. "Tonight." Jacob answered. Sangyeon sighs. This was too fast. His father really be telling him serious things in last minutes.
"We have each other's number. So when you are on your way to the house do text me. I will also come there." Sangyeon says. Jacob hums agreeing.
After that Sangyeon walks away from there leaving Jacob to do his work. It was already time for him to head home. He drives back to his house. The file of the 9 criminals still with him.
He parks the car in the space he usually parks and walks up to his apartment with the file in his hand. He puts in the code opening the door. He sighs as he walks inside.
Sangyeon placed the file on the table of the living room and goes inside the kitchen pouring himself a glass of cold water. He walks back out and to the living room, sitting down on the couch.
He puts the glass of water on the table and instead picks up the file. Opening it to read it more properly. He goes through each of the criminal's profile. Some were horrifying to him. And some were not that bad.
He rubs his forehead putting down the file. He concludes that his father is a bit crazy with his ideas. He really really hoped things will go just fine. He leans back and closes his eyes. He doesn't even realise it as he drifts away to sleep.
[Time Skip]
Next time Sangyeon wakes up it is at around 6:47 pm and his phone is ringing again and again. He looks at the I.D and realized it is Jacob. He clears his throat as he quickly picks up the phone.
"I am on my way to the house. Come fast if possible." is what Jacob says the moment he accepts his call. "Okay. I will be there. Send me the location." He says. Jacob ends the call and soon Sangyeon recieves the location.
He quickly grabs his car keys and goes out of the apartment making sure the door is properly locked. He gets into his car and starts the engine driving towards the location Jacob had sent him.
After minutes of driving he ends up in front of a large house. As his father had said the house is away from city and there is no people or any other houses around it. Sangyeon notices that a van is already there and assumes it must be Jacob's.
He gets out of the car and walks inside the house. He is instantly greeted by Jacob who looked nervous to say the least. "They are all in the living room." The slightly younger male says. Sangyeon nods as they head inside the living room together.
As they walked in everyone's eyes is instantly on them. "Oooooh here comes the commissioner's son. He is pretty handsome I must say~" one of them says. Sangyeon recognizes him as Sohn Eric whose real name is Youngjae, one of the hacker.
"I hope you all understand this mission my father has come up with. If we are doing this then we would need good cooperation and communication between the eleven of us." Sangyeon says but is cut off by the other hacker, Kim Sunwoo. "As long as I get what I was promised after all these ends then yes I am willing to do anything." The younger says. Sangyeon's eyes twitches. He hates when he gets interrupted.
Jacob holds up a box and opens it. Sangyeon recognizes the content of it. The collars. "Anyway my father have told you about the collars I believe." He starts. Jacob quickly gets to showing the collar. "No one is gonna be taking this off until the mission is successful and done. You can't take it off unless you have the password. If you try to take it off in any wrong way it could kill you." He explains.
"It is so advanced I love it." Another voice chimes. Sangyeon recognizes it as Changmin. One of the lethal twin. Another voice speaks out. "I think we all have had this talk. Lets just get this over with. Give me my collar." It is Kim Younghoon who speaks up. The silent killer, Sangyeon recognizes. Sangyeon nods at Jacob who then hands out the collar.
Everyone puts on their collar some grumbling under their breath while some seemed to not really care. "I hope you all will give your best in this. We have to make sure nothing goes wrong. Just so you realise if something does goes wrong it is not only me and Jacob that would be in trouble but also you guys. None of you won't have another chance to start a proper life." Sangyeon warns.
Everyone grumbles but agrees. After all Sangyeon wasn't wrong. "What we are going to do it reveal the corruption and crimes that has been buried because of the corrupted officers. Me and Sangyeon will bring in different cases. We have to solve them. Together." Jacob says.
"Who would have thought that I would be working along with police? Life surely surprises me." Hyunjae, the conman, speaks up chuckling. "Let's be decent with each other shall we?" He says with a smile looking at everyone.
"Okay I am cool with it." Haknyeon chirped clapping his hand. "As long as we are getting everything we will need for this mission." Juyeon says. Sangyeon nods "Of course I will plan for all that." He says.
"Okay then sweethearts. No more talks for tonight. I am tired. Prison is not very pleasant. Show me my room." Chanhee speaks up as he stands up. Sangyeon coughs awkwardly as Jacob asks everyone to choose their own rooms. There were enough room for all of them. Some can share a room if they preferred or sleep separately.
Everyone walks off further inside the house. "Do you think this will work?" Sangyeon asked turning to Jacob. "No one knows. We wait and see for now." Jacob answers. Sangyeon sighs. "Are you going to stay here?" He questioned.
"Hmm it will be better if there is someone to look after them I guess." Jacob says shrugging. Sangyeon nods. "I will get going for now. I will come tomorrow morning with some things for them. Clothes and all. Take care. Be careful." Sangyeon says. Jacob nods. "I don't think they will hurt me for no reason anyway. As long as I don't provoke them." Jacob says.
Sangyeon looks at him wondering what makes the younger think so. "Why do you think so?" He voiced out his question. "I just think of this way. Human are an animal too. Animal don't hurt you unless the situation calls for it or if they feel threatened. I am not making them feel threatened nor putting them in a situation where they would feel the need to kill me." Jacob answers.
The younger's words made Sangyeon think back to his father's last words in the office. "Always remember son, a monster is not born but made. And sometimes the world and the people makes a human a monster."
Sangyeon shooked his head to get rid of the thought. "I will get going then. See you tomorrow." He says. Jacob nods and sees him off. As Sangyeon returns to his apartment he goes straight to his bedroom. He needed a good sleep so that his mind could relax a bit. After all he had so much to do the next day. For the night he falls asleep with a prayer for everything to work out.
