Lauren was at Tris' house together with his mom. They've prepared dinner for her and invited her to stay over until she finds her friends. After eating, she volunteered to do the dishes as a return for letting her in.
"Are you sure, dear?" Tris' mom smiled as she cleared the table.
"Yes, Mrs. Evans. Please, just let me do it. It's the least I can do."
"Dear, it's all right. You don't have to but if you really insist then, okay but let Tris help you."
"'Alrighty." They both answered with a smile.Lauren smiled at her and went to the kitchen with Tristan while Mrs. Evans went to her room upstairs. While washing the plates, Tristan started to talk.
"So, where are you from again?" he started talking.
"Philippines. Have you heard about my country?"
"'course! Wonderful place. Beautiful beaches." he smiled, amazement filled his eyes.
"Been there before?" She asked him, making eye contact and immediately looked away.
"No, not yet. I wish I could." he shrugged.
"But you could always come and visit. If you do, I will be very willing to be your tourguide and guess what? I won't be charging you any bucks." She joked and giggled.
"Oh yeah? I'll remember that." He replied, pointing at her and accidentally splattered some soap suds on her face.
"Oh no, you didn't." She burst out laughing and scooped a handful of suds from the sink and brushed it on Tris' face. He quickly wiped it off with his hands and attempted to do the same to Lau but she held his wrist and pushed it away from her. "No, you can't do that again to me." She squeeled
"But I can, babe." he said, leaning in and looking into her eyes.
She froze when she heard him called her "babe". She automatically let go of his hand and looked away immediately.
"Gotcha! Ha-ha" Tris shouted and laughed so hard but noticed how fast her reaction changed. "I'm sorry, I just find it so funny playing with. . ."
"No it's all right." She cut him off. "I'm just worried about my friends." She lied. Okay, a half-lie. She's indeed worried but it wasn't the real reason.
"Don't worry. They'll be fine. I'll help you locate them tommorow, okay?" He assured her.
She nodded and finished washing the plates."Hey. I just thought you might want to watch a movie. I've got some blu-ray." He grinned
"Sure. Why not. Got some horror stuff?"
"Uh, yeah. There's one I guess. Haven't watched it yet tho."
"Why? Too scared to watch it alone?" She teased.
"What? Me? N-o. He-he" he stuttered. "Was it too obvious that I was scared?" He thought to himself.
