Spin the Bottle

The Marauders watch in anticipation as the bottle spins around and around. James is hoping that it will land on him and then on Lily so he FINALLY has an excuse to kiss her!

Remus is watching the bottle, his heart fluttering as Sirius builds the anticipation by drumming his hands on the floor. It's slowing down now. Coming to a stop on...

REMUS!

The Marauders laugh and James thumps him on his back. "Spin it again Wormy, who's Moony gonna kiss?"

Peter spins the bottle and Remus is worried about who it's going to land on next... his heart is pounding. There is someone in this room whom he's hiding feelings for...

After a few more turns, the bottle lands on...

SIRIUS.

Oh no, Remus thinks, his stomach doing flips.

Sirius looks up at him with THOSE EYES that Remus has seen too often.

Remus blushes.

"Come on mate, it's just a kiss" James teases.

But Sirius is blushing too - PROPERLY blushing. He scrapes his hands through his hair, clearly uncomfortable.

He leans over the bottle, closing the space between them. Remus copies him, leaning closer and closer...

Their lips are almost touching and the room cheers. Then, without warning, Sirius grabs Remus' tie and pulls him closer.

Closer and closer.

Now they're tumbling on top of each other, unable to move apart.

"I said just a kiss, mates" James teases again. But they barely hear him.

Sirius sits up and looks into Remus' eyes. Their cheeks flushed and chests heaving. "Come on," Sirius says to Remus, "I've been meaning to tell you something."

Sirius drags Rem up to their dorm, hand in hand...

As soon as the door is closed, Sirius slams Remus up to it and they resume what they left downstairs.

Remus suddenly gets worried and tenses. Sirius realizes and pulls away carefully.

"What's wrong?" He asks, suddenly worried that he misread Remus and he's just made a fool out of himself.

"It's just," Remus says, "how can you do that? I'm a monster and-" he's cut off.

"You're not a monster Rem. How can you think that? You're a beautiful boy who I'm madly in love with."

Remus shakes his head...

"You know what I am, I'm dangerous," Remus says.

Now Sirius shakes his head. "You're only dangerous if James does something stupid."

Rem smiles. Sirius smiles too.

"Okay," Rem whispers, "then I'm madly in love with you too."

Sirius kisses him again and Remus responds, pulling Sirius close and picking him up.

How is Moons so strong? Sirius thinks as he's thrown onto the bed and Remus climbs on top of him.

They break apart.

"How long-" they start at the same time. The boys blush and laugh.

"You go," Sirius says.

"How long have you liked me?"

Sirius pauses. "I've had feelings for you for so long I don't even know."

Remus blushes an even deeper shade of red. "I- er- me too..."

"How did we not know?" Sirius asks.

"Not sure Pads. We both must just be really oblivious."

Sirius shuts him up by pulling him close and kissing him again.

They are like this for the whole night. At some point, they took their clothes off though...

Remus wakes up, Sirius laying across his bare chest. He breathes in and the smell of Sirius' shampoo makes his stomach flutter. How many hours has he spent dreaming about Sirius? And now he's here, that barrier between them has been broken down. They are more than friends now...

The sun streams through the curtains and Remus can see the boy more clearly now: a tattoo that he's never seen before on Sirius' upper arm: a moon and a star.

Remus smiles and questions how he didn't notice all those hints that Sirius gave, the tattoo for heaven's sake, how's he not seen this before? How did he not notice? I mean, come on, Sirius is gay and he didn't realize?

But then again, Sirius didn't realize that Remus liked him so it goes both ways.

Stop, Remus tells himself, you both know now and that's all that matters.
