Chapter 3
Spotting Nathan in the courtyard, James walked over and exchanged a high five with him. "James, bud. You going to the party tonight?"
"Suki's house right?"
"Yeah, don't get too excited. It's only a small party,"
Nathan rolled his eyes and gave James a knowing smile. Sometimes his friend James over did it at huge parties. Drinking wise that is, and he'd complain all the time once he regains consciousness, to the point Nathan got used to it.James shrugged with a grin. "Don't think I'm going to go."
Nathan frowned. "Dude, it's Suki's house. Suki. The cute looking girl in our science class. I think she likes me."
James smirked. "Nah, in your dreams delusional freak. I think I'll just go to Amy's house today anyway."
"Audreys gonna be there."
James froze in his tracks. "Audrey? Why would that interest me..." His voice cracked.
Nathan exploded into laughter. "Because you've got it down bad for her? Everyone can see that, James. Even a blind person, including Audrey her self."
James' eyes widened, but he said nothing. He regained his composure, as he said, "I think I've changed my mind. This party sounds pretty cool now that I think about it."
Authors note: down bad for real LMAO
Nathan rolled his eyes as he muttered under his breath "As to be expected, his down bad." As he left and said goodbye. James snapped his phone open and dialed Jio's number. "Speak."
"Jio, it's James.""You know I have caller ID right?" Jio said with disappointment over the phone.
"Right, okay. Whatever. Change of plans. Maxi is having a party tonight. You know, Maxi right?"
"I don't know if knowing Maxi is a good or bad thing..." His voice trailed off.
James rolled his eyes. "Come to the party, Jio. I'll pick you up at 7."
I don't really have a choice, do I?"
"Nope," James said with a grin. "Don't be late.
He snapped his phone shut and threw his backpack over his shoulder. He walked over to his car and drove home.~~~~
"I still can't believe I'm doing this."
"Think of it as a favor," James suggested, knocking on the door.
"Then you owe me one," Jio retorted. James looked over at him with a smile.
"On the positive side, you look... handsome, Jio." And he wasn't lying. Jio wore a black polo, tight pants and black studded boots. His eyes were coated with a thin line of smoky black eyeliner, and that green tint in his eyes. He was very handsome, James thought to himself even though he knew he shouldn't be thinking of him like that.
Jio's cheeks flushed and he stammered to say something, but nothing came out. When he stared at him like that, it made him feel wanted, special.. attractive. His grin made shivers run up his back and at the same time, he felt all warm and tingly inside. "For the record.. you look good too, James," he whispered softly with a tiny smile.
Before he could say anything, the door opened and Nathan was standing in the frame. "James, nice to see ya and you brought Jio... come on in."
Jio bit his tongue so that he wouldn't say anything negative. It was obvious Nathan didn't want him to be here and to be honest, Jio didn't want to be here either, but he would do anything for James. Maybe he knew that and was taking advantage of him. James gave him a knowing smile, silently thanking him for not causing a sense. He nodded in return.
Authors note: SEE??? JAMES A WALKING RED FLAG
James spotted a few of his buddies at the bar. Knowing Jio didn't like his buddies that much he said, "Go mingle, Jio. I'm gonna get a drink." Not to mention, if he wanted to talk to his buddies about Audrey, they would support him. Jio, on the other hand, didn't support his minor thing for Audrey. Maybe it was because he was jealous that Audrey would replace him if she became his girlfriend.
Authors note: see? Ur fucking aware too, omg
Jio watched him leave and wondered why he needed him to come in the first place. Bring him out of his thoughts, he heard someone call his name. It was Adrian, a guy he was friends with. Smiling, he walked over to Adrian and hugged him. Adrian introduced Jio to his friends Calvin and Diego.
Jio tried his best to forget about James.
