Growing up, nobody tells you what love truly is. It isn't all butterflies in your stomach and forehead kisses early in the morning.
No It's more then that.

It's the anger in the arguments that keep you fighting for each otherIt's the feeling of betrayal learning something you should have already been toldIt's the pain as you feel them slipping awayThat is what love is, that is the ugly side no one wants you to know, nobody is ever prepared forBut boy when it happens, it hits you like a ton of bricks There are times you'll want to throw in the towelThere are times you want to give upBut then is when it hits, that's when the smallest things in the story matter, that is when they'll surprise you and everything will be okay again

This is the storyThis is my story on how I fell in love, when I thought I was already thereNoahA name I'll remember for my entire life, the boy that changed my world without even trying.I will always remember the day I met him, his breathe with the smell of alcohol still lingering, the smell of his cologne he had used to mask the smell of stale cigarettes while he lazily clung on to the nearest girl to himWalking into that house I didn't expect to see what I had, when I moved over 4 hours away from family I never thought this would be the new normal for me "Who is the newbie?" A brunette asked brushing past me, I glanced over at my new found roommate, her name was Alice, we are the definition of polar opposites that is for sureHer blonde hair barley touching her shoulders when curled, her insistent need to have someone touching her one way or another"Guy this is Erin, The newest of our block" Alice smirked, I didn't move, I continued to observe as everyone looked me up and downI did not fit in here, that is for sure, no matter what was to happen, I wasn't about to change myself for anyone. Not even if it meant for an easy sail through school"Why is she here?" Noah asked looking me up and down with a subtle bite to his lip. The girls attached to his hip noticed and began to glare at me"I figured we could loosen her up a little" Alice said with baby blue eyes fluttering"Loosen up hmm" The same brunette had asked"Erin, this is Noah, Leo, Talia, Nae and James" Alice said finally putting some names to their facesThese people were quite clearly a close group who weren't that open for strangers that is for sure"Okay" I replied earning Leo's attention again"So Erin, what are you doing here" Leo asked putting his beer bottle on the table over flowing with empties"The usual college experience I guess" I shrugged, I had no idea what I was meant to expect in this place but this wasn't it"So does that mean we will see you more often?" He asked now smirking"I doubt it" I replied earning a cocky look from the boys while the girls scoffed with laughter"She has a bark" Alice said taking me hand high fiving herself with it, I rolled my eyes at it before making eye contact with Noah again"Does Daddy know you talk like that?" Nae asked, I looked at her as she clung onto Noah"Daddy hasn't been choosing what I say since I was about 6" I replied earning another laugh from a few of them I looked around seeing them all start to chatter amongst themselves and I find it most appropriate that this is my time to escape

As I continue my journey through the house of drunk teenagers, I can't help but think that this would not be the plan my parents had set out on me as a kidI safely made it to the kitchen to be face to face with a blonde stood in the way of the back door, quite literally the only thing stopping me from having some fresh air"My bad" he muttered as he lifted his glass up as if to stop himself spilling it "no worries" i replied walking past him to finally make my escape outsideThis garden wasn't any betterEverywhere seems to be overflowing with drunks who are trying to let their hair down but instead they are doing nothing but making a fool of themselves I was about to give up on this place when I found a quiet corner of the partyBut to my dismay it was occupied"Parties aren't your scene either?" he asked, I sighed and shook my head"The name is Jason" He said offering me his hand to shake, I smiled and happily shook it before going and sitting down"I'm Erin" I smiled"Well Erin, what brings you to party central?" He asked offering me a bottle of water"My roommate brought me, I think she was just merely looking for a bit of entertainment" I confessed and Jason chuckled"Yeah they'll do that to you" He replied"What about you?" I asked"Believe it or not this is my place, I live here with my brother. His party though, not mine I swear" He laughed, I looked out into the garden again to see more strangers getting overly drunk once more"So what I'm hearing is, stay away from your brother?" I asked and he nodded"Wouldn't want him ruining a beautiful soul like you" He smiledNow Jason is an important part in this story, he is borderline one of the main characters. If it wasn't him, I would have given up on love a long time, I would have walked away a long time. It's a simple as that "I think I'm going to head out" I smiled at him"Let me walk you out? I would hate for a douche to get his hands on you" Jason replied I smiled and nodded

After the short walk back to my dorms, I realised that I think I'm the only one in our entire dorm block that is home from this party. Including our RAWalking into my room, I glance over at Alice's side of the room that was covered top to bottom with posters, photos and just an overall dark elementMine on the other side was light and flowy, in my opinion anyway. I had books here and there with the usual photo frames aroundI didn't want to over do it because I knew I wouldn't have much space around here"I miss you" I whispered looking at an old photo of my friends and I.A little back story on myself..I'm an only child with a huge back ground, all of my family came to this college and succeed to the highest possibleI come from a lawyer as a father and a writer as a mother. And what did they produce? They produced a dancer, it's funny that isn't itMy mother and father are the text book case of how love tricks the naked eyeYou take one look at them and you would see nothing but pure happiness and the look in their eyes shows how in love they are... but behind closed doors? That isn't the case, they argue like no tomorrow.. Whether it be about Dad working late, or mum not working enough. But when it comes to it and they need someone the other is always there without failAnd that. That is what I want, that is what I am to gain in this life.
