"𝐈M EXCITED FOR THIS LESSON." Olivia told Lewis Smith, one of her good friends. 𝐒ince she had Care of magical creatures with the Slytherins, she decided to walk with him because he was by himself.
"Oh, I don't know." Lewis said nervously "you know what Hagrids like - I'm a bit nervous if I'm being honest."
She agreed with him at that, thinking of Fluffy, Norbet, Aragog and other dangerous creatures Hagrid had come into contact with over the years.
Hagrid was waiting for his class at the front of his hut. He stood in his moleskin overcoat, with Fang, Olivias favourite boarhound, at his heels.
"All right, Professor." Olivia asked, grinning up at the giant.
"Oh, don't bother with all that nonsense. Call my Hagrid, Professor makes me feel old!" Then he turned to the rest of the class and called "C'mon, now, get a move on!"
Lewis scooted out of sight as Harry, Ron and Hermione came strolling down the grassy slope and next to Olivia. She sighed, Lewis was one of those people who was quite loud around his friends - you know, people he was comftable with, but if neither then you would probably forget that he was there because he wouldn't make a sound, just stare at his shoes or fiddle with his fingers.
Hagrid strided happily around the edge of the trees, and five minutes later, they found themselves outside a kind of paddock. There was nothing in there.
"Everyone gather round this fence here!" He called "Now, first thing you want ter to do is open yeh books-"
"And how do we do that?" Said the cold, drawling voice of Draco Malfoy.
Most people had shut their bitting books shut with a strong bit of rope or bind it together with a belt.
"Hasn't - Hasn't anyone bin able ter open their books?" Said Hagrid, looking crestfallen.
The class shook their heads.
"Yer gotta stroke 'em!" Hagrid said like it was the most obvious thing in the world. He demonstrated with Hermiones copie of the book "See?"
"Oh, how silly we've all been!" Malfoy sneered "We should of stroked them! Why didn't we guess!"
"I... I thought they were funny." Hagrid said uncertainly to Olivia, who nearest him.
