Rounding the corner I stopped dead in my tracks as I watched three hero's chase the one asshole I wanted to forget about.

"Hero Killer." I said with a cold expression.

The man skid to a stop smiling wildly as his eyes locked with purple ones.

"Well we'll if it isn't my little protégé!" He said taking a step back eyeing the boy head to toe.

"What the hell are you looking at?" I said crossing my arms.

"Just seeing how you've changed over the years. And my my how you've grown I'm almost proud." He said shifting his weight from his left to his right foot.

"Hey he went this way don't loss him!"

The pair stared at each other with wide eyes as the hero's approached.

" Well?" The hero killer said taking a fighting stance.

"Well what?" I said taking a step back.

"Sigh, You can't let me go and we both know you don't want to associate yourself with me." He said raising his chin toward the sky.

"Well you're not wrong there but I don't really want to fight you but I guess you won't just let me walk away like that ,huh?" I said taking a fighting stance.

"Nope sorry, but you've made it complicated and I hate complicated!" He said grinning like a mad man.

The man said charging the vigilante. Taking a step back green shadow pulled a knife from his thigh bringing it up to his face he crouched into a fighting stance.

Lunging at each other the hero killer unsheathed his katanas bringing them to meet green shadow dagger.

As the two clashed together the hero's were closing in on them and fast.

Exchanging blows the two were starting to break a sweat. Kicking the hero killer in the face green shadow backflipped to avoid the threatening metal barreling towards him.

Sweat dripped from their foreheads as blood dripped from their blades. The hero killer raised the blade to his lips raking his tongue across the blade.

I felt my whole body pulse as my grip loosened on my blade, chills crept down my spin into my legs.

My body trembled as I fell to the ground. Grunting as I met the ground. Unable to move and surrounded by hero's.

My eyes scanned the shoes in front of me. Hero killer was still here even though he could just escape and leave me here.

"Heh guess you fakes will just have to do." He said as his swords dripped with blood.

Closing my eyes I tried to move my body. I noticed he hadn't moved from his spot so I assume he's being asked questions before they bash it out. In which I need to be out of this predicament before that happens.

Focusing on my fingers first I felt them tremble and eventually move. Slowly my strength returned to my hand powering up through my arm. Raising my head I saw stain the hero killer laughing like a maniac as three hero's lay sprawled out on the ground.

Pushing myself to my knees I watched the remaining two fight with Stain.

Reaching into my pocket I pulled out my smoke bomb. Pulling the pin I rolled it towards the trio.

Running into the thick smoke I slammed directly into my target knocking him off balance.

I watched as he fell from the roof hitting the concrete with a thud.

The hero's followed him down pinning him and restraining him. Taking a step back I turned ready to flea the scene when I heard the words I had been dreading.

"I know who you really are don't forget that."

Picking up my pace I ran through the city continuously checking over my shoulder for the two hero's I left behind.

As my patrol came to an end my heart still raced no matter what I did I could escape the fear he had installed within me with those words. The sun was going to come up in a few hours and I've got work so my patrol has come to an end.

Retuning to my dark apartment I slowly stripped away my gear securing it back in the closet I walked to the bathroom.

Turing the water on I stepped inside shivering at the cold water but relaxing as the heat washed over my sore arms. Washing the dirt and blood from my hair I rinsed off and wrapped a towel around my waist.

Standing in front of the mirror I reached under the sink setting down the black hair dye I slid on the gloves as I applied it to my roots covering the green tint that was starting to show.

Waiting fifteen minutes I washed it out slipping on a hoodie and cloth shorts I glided into my bed.

Laying in the dark I stared at the ceiling until sleep consumed me.

Time skip

Shooting my eyes open I turned over slamming my hand on my phone stopping the insufferable beeping that was coming from it's speakers.

Pulling off my clothes I changed into my work attire. Heading out the door I made my way to the coffee shop. Unlocking the door I started to set up the machines and wipe down tables.

People came and went throughout the day as my shift came to an end I could help but notice the purple haired kid sitting in the back. He ordered a coffee and just seems to be doing homework. But still I can't get what he said off my mind maybe it's time for a change in job careers.

It's a cool job and pays well but if people keep recognizing me like this I won't last till winter break.

Clocking out I made my way to the restaurant stopping to look at passing cars as I waited for the lights to change.

Noticing the light up advertising I watched as it went through all the top hero's. Man what a younger me would give just to be on that board.

I couldn't help but smile at the thought as I disappeared for the fifth time tonight.
