Awaken The World

Hello!

This story has a prequel called 'Guilty | Yangyang AU', I recommend you read that first as it has very important details that will make this easier to understand. The story is very short and takes less than five minutes to read through.

For a small recap, Yangyang was attending college with the rest of the members of WayV when murders started happening. Eventually, this led to Kun's, Hendery's mother, and Lucas' murder (along with some other characters). Realising this was all Yangyang's doing, he went on the run from the police after Hendery and Winwin told Detective Hwang what he had done (oh, he also murdered Detective Hwang's daughter). Xiaojun and Ten assisted him in running away until they were all captured after Yangyang killed Winwin. Yangyang came face to face with another detective who questioned him about what he'd done until he had a vision of all his friends standing over him. Throughout this, a mysterious voice has been speaking in his head.

So now that we're all on the same page, I will warn you that there will be more descriptions of violence and death in this story, along with swearing. Other than that, please enjoy the first chapter of Illusions.

"Liu Yangyang, you have one minute to get out of bed or so help you!" Yangyang's mum shouts from his doorway. Her voice echoed through his drowsy state.

"I'm up! I'm up..." Yangyang rubs his eyes and throws his blankets off. The cold bites at his skin and he groans as he forces himself up.

What?

What. Yangyang looks around, startled. He's back in his room, his actual room. He rushes over to a mirror and his reflection stares back at him. He wasn't covered in blood, dirt and he was dressed in clean pyjamas, not a prison jumpsuit.

Why am I back here?

Yangyang shook his head, he forced everything out of his mind. He took a deep breath, then another. He must be mistaken, he must have just had a seriously bad dream. The more he thought about it, the more the memories seemed to fade away, like what usually happens when you have a dream. Yangyang got dressed in his hoodie and jeans. Deja vu rolled over him and he ditched the jeans for sweatpants. His head hurt, everything fucking hurt. He rushes down the stairs before he even thinks to brush his hair... or teeth.

His mum tsks at him.

"About time, maybe instead of staying up so late playing games, you should put some time-"

"-into studying, or at least get a normal sleep schedule, I know." Yangyang slumps into a chair, resting his head in his hands.

"Well, good to know something gets into your head. College is going to be difficult but you'll be fine, I believe in you," Yangyang is already scrolling on his phone and his mum sighs at him before gathering her stuff and heading for the door. "Don't miss the bus!" She yells before walking out the door.

Yangyang doesn't say anything as he looks at the date on his phone. It's the first of the month, his first day at college. It feels wrong, everything feels wrong but he can't place why.

Listen to me.

Yangyang opens a text from Xiaojun in their group chat.

Xiaojun: Are we all excited for college?!

Ten: Why would we, it's school

Kun: It's not that bad lol. I'm excited to see you guys again

Kun. Yangyang doesn't understand the ache in his heart when he sees his friend's name pop up.

Lucas: I won't be there today! Sorry guys aha
