Stay With Me [xiao x reader]

    "Help! Someone please help!" You cried running from the hoard of attacking hillichurls. Then you felt a breeze behind you, and you twirl your head around fearfully. Then as soon as you can fix your gaze you find a man and a dead hoard of hillichurls behind you. "If you ever need help, call out my name adeptus xiao," he said. "Wa-Wait!" You say he turns his head, you look at him a mask covering his face a polearm and short shaggy green-ish hair. "Ad- Adeptus Xiao, where could I find you?" you ask. "Wangshu Inn, though I do not find visitors pleasant," he speaks and then in a flash of wind he's gone.

       You couldn't stop thinking about this adeptus so you took a two day journey to Wangshu Inn to see him. Then in the distance you spot it the inn where Xiao is you legs had never moved faster. Then after ten minutes you reach it, you reach your goal. You immediately went running up the stairs as fast as your legs could carry you. After reaching the top floor your out of breath then someone approach's you. "Hello, I'm Verr are you here to rent a room," she says "Ah! Hello ma'am, and yes I would be interested" you reply.

    "Miss Verr can I ask you a question" you say excitedly "Of course" she replys "Is there an adeptus that lives here named Xiao?" You inquire "Oh, yes he's in the kitchen down there eating almond tofu" Verr says. You were so excited you ran down the stairs looking for him plus you were quite hungry as well. "Where is he..?" You say to yourself, "Xiaooo! Xiaaooo!" You say loudly. "Hmph, didn't I say I do not like visitors" he scoffs from the corner siting in a chair eating.

    "Well, I'm here now!" You say taking a seat next to him. "What brings you here" Xiao says, "I wanted to see you, Xiao," you reply. You could swear his cheeks turned  bit pink, "Foolish mortal, I could kill you right now, and you want to "see" me, hmph, nonsense" he scoffs. "Hey cmon, let's be friends" you smile "adepti have no need for friendship," he responds coldly walking away.

     After your failed attempt to talk with the adeptus you walk out to the balcony and just sit there taking in the view. Then you thought it would be a good idea to sit on the railing of the balcony. So you sat on the railing and heaved your legs over so that they were dangling. Though unknown to you Xiao had been watching you and in a whirlwind you find yourself back on the balcony's main area. "Xiao..?" You question, "Foolish, you will get yourself killed," Xiao scolds. "Well! Uh! Didn't you say you didn't want friendship but here you are saving me!" You exclaim

   "Because it is my duty," he replied  "Well, maybe I'll get into a lot of trouble so we could talk more!" You say slyly "fool," Xiao mumbles walking away. And so you went to your room in Wangshu Inn and flopped in your bed. You couldn't stop thinking to yourself how you were gonna befriend that adepti rascal.

    "Yawn..."  you had woken up earlier than usual hoping to catch that Xiao before he went somewhere. You had heard of the adeptus spot he stays at from Verr so first thing you did was to tell Xiao good morning. "Xiaooo! Good morning!" You say hoping he can hear you. So you then go down to the kitchen and eat a delicious fried egg. "Mr Smiley! Could you teach me how to make almond tofu?" You ask the chef. "Hm? Alright," he replied. Little did you know Xiao had been keeping his eye on you this whole time.

    You decided to go back to your room early today and spend some time reading books, mostly about adepti and yaksha, and before you knew it time flew and it was already midnight. So you decided it was sleeping time.

   You were gonna do today different, first you went to the kitchen and cooked up two almond tofu hoping it would lure the mysterious adeptus out. "Xiaoo! I brought you so almond tofu!" You shout, you could see part of his head peaking out. Then in a wind current you were left with only one plate of tofu. You smiled "Well it seems that you like almond tofu," you say giggling "I love you.." you whisper under your breath.

    Then when the afternoon arrived you went back with three plates of tofu "Xiao! I brought you two plates of almond tofu!" You say then in a wind whirl you find the adeptus in front of you. "Why do you seek my companionship mortal" Xiao says his tone cold. "I- It.. It's because I haven't been able to stop thinking about you, Xiao," you exclaim. He then turns to walk away but you grab him and Xiao looks back in shock "Xiao." You say firm "Xiao, I- I am in love.. with you." You then release him from your grasp

   "How could you love a monster like me" Xiao says looking at the ground, "Because your not a monster!" You say tears forming. "I've read the books you're not a monster you are still even you carry out your duty till now protecting others!" You grab his face with your hands and before he can retort back you kiss him. "Wh- What.." Xiao stutters face red. "Xiao.. I love you truly you aren't a monster, your a protector, and I know you say you don't want friendship or companionship or anything of the sort but, I will never leave you alone because.. I love you," you say gently hugging the adeptus.

    Before Xiao notices he's buried his head into your shoulder. Then he looks back up and says "But.. If you stay by my side you will die," Xiao says "Xiao.. I'd rather die and be happy with you than anything!" You exclaim, you jump on him pushing him down on the balcony hugging I'm tight. "I love you, Xiao," you say "I- well Uh I-" Xiao stutters "Xiao, say 'I love you too [name].." you tell him. He nods "I love you too.. [name]" he said. Then you cup his face bringing him in for a kiss under the bright sun.
