"So, they sound as good live as they sound on the record?" I ask turning back to my cousin Jermaine and his girl Hazel
"Yes! That's why we're going to see them." My other cousin Marlon that's driving says excitedly and I chuckle
"Marlon shut up and drive." Jermaine says
"I am." Marlon playfully rolls his eyes
"Bobby's really something." Hazel says and Jermaine gives her a look
"I mean music wise, he's very talented." She finishes and Jermaine sighs relieved
"Mhm, you know what you was bout to say." Marlon teases as I turn back to face the front sulking down a bit trying not to laugh
"Marlon." Jermaine says in a obviously annoyed tone
"What? It's true..." he mumbles
"Heyy we're here!" I sit up fixing my hair
"Haz, how's my hair from the back?" I ask
"Perfect you don't have to worry." She assures me
"Okay thanks." I nod as Marlon parks and we all get out
We immediately skip the long line down the block and we eventually get to the entrance where these tall strong security guys stand.
We then attempt to walk thru but they stop us. Then Jermaine and Marlon take off their shades.
"Oh it's the Jacksons." One of them says
"Are the girls with you?" The other asks
"Yes." Jermaine says
"Oh, well in that case." He lets us through
"Tsk." Marlon scoffs
"Hazel! Jermaine! Hey!" A soft male voice says causing us all to look and a fine light skin guy around Jermaine's height with a perm and a light moustache comes up to us.
"Bobby! Man, what's up?" Jermaine smiles as they dap each other up
"Nothing much man, we were just rehearsing and now we're just using up the free time before the show starts." He lightly shrugs with a chuckle as Jermaine nods
"Hazelll, girl how u been?" Bobby takes her hand freeing her from Jermaine's grasp for a second and he spins her.
"Oh Bobby." She laughs
"Bro, you know Jermaine boutta get on yo ass for spinning his girl like that." Marlon laughs
"Marlon!! Come her you little rascal." Bobby turns to Marlon and starts ruffling Marlon's fro
"Hey hey hey! MY HAIR!!" Marlon shouts as they break away and Marlon starts running his hand thru his hair with a mean mug while Bobby's laughing
"How bad does it look?" Marlon asks staring me in my eyes
"Not that bad, come with me." I nod sideways then grab his arm dragging him to the ladies bathroom.
"So, this Bobby guy... How close are y'all?" I ask taking out a mini can of hairspray
"Well, I haven't seen him in a while. But we good friends. He's signed to Hazel's Dad's label." He says leaning down so I can fix his hair but won't stop moving
"Marlon keep moving like that and imma grab you by yo nose in a minute." I say seriously
"Okay okay." He laughs staying still and a girl comes out of the stall and stares at us wide eyed
"O.M.G. YOU'RE MARLON JACKSON!! FROM THE JACKSON 5!!" She squeals as I look back at Marlon with a huff
"Can I please have a hug?? Omg are the other Jackson brothers here?!!? CAN YOU PLEASE TELL MICHAEL I LOVE HIM!!?!?! Okay wait here, I'm gonna go get my friend!!" The girl says all too quickly before quickly walking out the door and Marlon chuckles as I put the mini cam away in my purse
"What can I say? The girls love me." He says daydreaming
"Let's go, come on Marlon put on your glasses." I say grabbing him again and we quickly walk back. I look at Marlon who's just smiling and waving at some girls by the corner
"Marlon you so stupid! Put ya goddamn shades back on." I snap pinching him just below his elbow
"Ouch! Okay okay damn woman!" He winces putting his shades back on
"I'll get you back for that!" He warns with a scowl
"Ugh where did they go?" I look around
"Oh there!" Marlon points and we walk back to Jermaine&Hazel and Bobby.
"Yeaa you should drop by tomorrow, that's when we'll start recording our next album." I hear Bobby say with his soft voice
"Totally! Babe you coming with me?" Jermaine asks Hazel
"Wouldn't miss it!" She says with a grin making Jermaine smile
"Great! I can't wait to see you guys there!!" Bobby smiles... damn he's too cute.
"3...2...1." Marlon whispers in my ear
"And who might this be?" He says turning my way as we lock eyes
"Marlon this ya girl?" Bobby asks still not breaking it
"Nah, this my cousin." Marlon says, I can feel his smirk and I look away slightly blushing
"Oh." Bobby says softly as if he felt butterflies in his stomach too.
I then look up to see Marlon and Jermaine smirking at each other then they both go to Bobby and pat his shoulders
"Come on man, let's get you back." Marlon says with a smirk as Jermaine gives Hazel a look before they start walking away
"Wait, but I never even got her name!" I hear Bobby say from afar
I smile then turn to Hazel
"Boys!" She laughs
"Yea." I say softly
"So, you like Bobby?" She asks out of the blue
"Me? N-Nah, what makes you think that?" I say a little embarrassed
"Girl I seen the way you look at Bobby." She teasingly nudges me
"And the way he look at you like there's no other girl in the world for him." She laughs a little
"Oh stopp." I say sarcastically rolling my eyes
"What? It's true!" We end up both laughing
I look around this place and it's pretty packed
"Damn, I didn't know it was gonna be this big." I say looking around
"Yea, everybody wants to get a taste of yo man and Switch." She smirks
"C'mon Haz, he's not. My man." I playfully roll my eyes. Or maybe I want him to be...
"I'm telling you girl, he likes you." She turns to me
"Nahh, he can't." I give her a look
"Girl I've known Bobby for a while. And I'm telling you, he don't look at nobody like that!" She says getting me all hyped up
"Hazel if he's just being friendly and doesn't actually like me I'll get you back!" I say trying not to smile
"Mhm, you gon see girl." She says before some familiar faces come on stage
"Oooh that's them Y/n! Keep an eye out for yo man." She teases as we stand near the front, I see Bobby glance at me and a smile spreads across his face
*after 20 minutes of dancing with Hazel*
"See, we told you they were as good as they were on vinyl!" She cheers
"Okayy I can see that." I laugh a little and a familiar song comes on
"I used to think about immature things... You know like, do you love me? Do you want me? Are you gon call me like you said you would? Is this really your real phone number?" Bobby says
"I call your name!" Me and Hazel say squealing
"But you know I'm a man now, baby, a grown man. And I came a loooong way, hehe." Aww that little laugh though, coulda had any girl melting!
"Cause those experience taught me one thing." He says holding up his finger
"Taught me to hold on to my love." He says looking at me.
As he's singing he keeps stealing glances here and there and cute little smiles. It's almost like a game.
"Thinking all that life would be. When you're not around." He sings softly
"Y/n he so likes you!" Hazel says as Bobby unexpectedly puts his hand out for me
"Go on girl!" Hazel cheers and I nod shyly taking Bobby's hand and getting on stage
"But since I've had you in my life, all these can be found." Bobby sings in his angelic falsetto while holding my hand
"So strong true, baby. Comin' from you, you, you, you, you." He spins me with his free hand making some of the girls in the crowd gush over it
"You." He kisses my hand as we slowly sway side to side with each other
"I call your name girl. Sometimes when I get lonely baby." We make intense yet shy eye contact
"I call your name." He smiles at me
*after the show was over.*
"Thank you!" Bobby says to the crowd as he and the rest of Switch bow then he flashes me a smile before going backstage with the band
"Hey." Jermaine says coming over
"Hey." Marlon says coming with him
"What took so long?" Hazel asks
"Eh I can't even complain I loved the show!" She smiles as Jermaine puts his arm over her and they start walking somewhere. Then Marlon comes up to me.
"It's about time you came back!" I say
"No time for explaining come with me!" Marlon says grabbing me by my arm
"Boy where you taking me?" I raise an eyebrow following him
"You'll see." I can hear his smirk
"Tell me." I say stopping at the back door
"Bobby, he wants to see you." He grins at me and I grin back
"Really?" I say to myself
"Yes, now come on." Marlon says then leading the way
"This is it." Marlon says then knocks
"Marlon is that you?" We hear a soft male voice distantly shout from inside
"Yea Bobby open up!" Marlon says
"Oh hey." Bobby says opening the door and standing there with a towel drying the ends of his hair.
"Hey." Marlon says as Bobby checks me out lightly licking his lips.
"Now." Marlon says putting his hands on my shoulders
"My cousin here reallyy likes you." He says emphasising the 'reallyy'
"Does she?" Bobby asks with a sly smirk
"She does." Marlon smirks and I give him a look
"So, I gotta get goin. Imma be with Jermaine&Hazel and the guys. And y'all better not be partying until the 4th date!" Marlon warns in a playful way
"Marlon!" We both say embarrassed as he walks away chuckling
"Sorry, about my crazy tail cousin." I lightly bite my lip
"It's okay baby, I seen worse." He chuckles before letting me in and closing his door
Time flew by as we got to know each other better. I learned that he's originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan. He has 7 brothers and 2 sisters, him being the older brother. And he's out here with one of his brothers called Tommy who's also in switch. He's such a gentleman too. Oh and he's single.
Now we were like play fighting, he's gentle though. But then he starts tickling me out of nowhere.
"Bobbyyy." I laugh
"Hmm?" He asks with a playful grin
"S-Stopp!" I laugh laying back
"Who me? I ain't doing nun." He stops then starts tickling me again
"Whyyy mee??!!" I squirm then look up at him as he chuckles then stops and we stare into each other's eyes. By now he's on top of me, neither of us knowing where to go from here...
"Ahah! I knew it!!" A voice says confidently after bursting thru the door and Bobby let's out an annoyed grunt
"So this what we doin? Y'all better use protection!!" He says
"MARLON!!!" We both shout
"Okay okay I'm gone." He puts his arms up in defence then closes the door as I roll my eyes
"So where were we?" Bobby says with a sexy tone, pinning my arms above my head.
"The part where you let me go so I can get up." I say playfully while looking at his lips, then down his jawline to his neck. Damn this man is sexy!
"Gimme a kiss and I'll let you go." He says as I look back up at him
"Hmm? Okay." I say as he leans down then I quickly move my head so he ends up kissing my cheek instead. He sighs with a chuckle before leaning down again and this time I turn my head to the other side and he kisses my other cheek.
"C'mon suga' I don't bite." He leans down and we both close our eyes. I feel a pair of soft, hungry lips on mine and I immediately give in but he pulls away.
"Not unless you ask me to." He leans down again and we quickly get to a passionate lip-locking session as I run my hands thru his hair and his hands softly rub my sides. It feels so good and I trust him but I don't think I'm ready to do it with him just yet.
"Mmm Bobby." I say pulling away
"What's wrong flower?" He says in a softer tone
"We just m—" he cuts me off by putting his index finger to my lips
"Shh it's okay, I get it. Don't worry I won't rush into it if you're not comfortable just yet." He says laying beside me as I nod and he wraps his arm around me.
"So I was wondering... Are you really single?" He asks as I play in his hair
"Yea." I softly say
"Oh really?? How single?" He says licking his lips
"Weeks." I say playfully
"Weeks... 1 week? 3 weeks? How many weeks is weeks?" He asks making me giggle
"5 maybe 6 weeks." I chuckle
"Oh okay." He says grinning like an idiot
"Whyyy?" I ask a little sus
"Oh nothing, nothing." He shakes it off
"So you heard us talking bout Switch being in the studio tomorrow right?" He asks
"Yea" I reply looking in his eyes
"Come pays us a visit I have a surprise for you." He says tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear before kissing my cheek
"Hmm... Okay lover boy." I say shyly
"Lover boy? That new... And I like it." He says before leaning in and I feel myself lean in too. Finally our lips connect again but it was shortly cut after we hear a knock at the door. Bobby rolls his eyes turning his head back toward the door.
"Who is it?" Bobby shouts
"Jermaine, Hazel n Marlon." I sigh
"Tell Y/n gather her clothes n get dressed, we gotta get going." Marlon says chuckling
Bobby turns back to me with a smirk as we both get up
"Well, I guess I'll see you at the studio." I say looking up at his tall frame
"Wait, this gives us some time." Bobby says wrapping his arms around my waist and kissing me while I wrap mine around his neck kissing him back.
"Honey be there at 2:30pm tomorrow." He says as we pull away from the kiss neither of us wanting to let each other go
"I promise." I say getting on my tippy toes to peck his lips
"Good." He chuckles before leaning down and pecking my lips one last time before letting me go. And I walk back to the door carefully swaying my hips.
"Ooo she bad. Imma be dreaming bout you girl." He says before we say our goodbyes and I walk out
