Ashley s POV
I gulped quietly as I made my way into Cheryl’s dressing room with her; she was chatting away about something or another. I wasn’t really listening; I was oddly staring at her long, bronzed legs that were on display. Ugh I needed to stop thinking about Cheryl like this, like right now..
“So..” she said as I looked up to her face as she turned around, “Have a seat; don’t be afraid to have some nibblets and stuff as well.” She gave me a wink, which made me smile slightly.
I sat myself down on the sofa and she sat at the other end, turning slightly so that she faced me, her eyes full of wonder. I turned slightly so that I was facing her a bit, smiling nervously while I crossed my legs.
“Right, tell me a bit about you, Miss Alshley. I’d love to get to know you more.” she said, pouting her lips cutely. I giggled nervously.
“Erm, not much to tell really. I’m nineteen, I’m from America, I love this country, I’m probably the youngest radio host with her own show in the country. I’m just a really chilled out person, if I’m honest. I like the chilled out life; I hate drama and chaos. I keep to myself really as I’m a bit shy sometimes - like if this was my first time meeting you, I’d be quiet as a mouse - but I’ve met you three times already so its not so bad. Erm, that’s it really.” I explained.
I mentally cursed myself; I sounded like such a fucking idiot. I had talked far too much as it was, and plus, I wasn’t even that interesting now that I was thinking about it. Jesus, she must think I’m a right loser..
“Aw babe bless; you seem so lovely as well, and I see that you’re a bit shy. Well, no need to be shy around me - though I’m no better, I’m kind of shy as well.” she giggled, moving some hair away from her face.
“So how long have you been living here then?” she asked.
“Erm, about a year now.” I replied.
“Aw bless! Are you finding it nice over here then or still getting used to it?” she asked happily. She was really taking an interest in my life; whoa.
“It’s okay! I’m still adjusting but I’m nearly used to it. The driving was really hard to get down, and the terms as well. You guys say some different stuff than Americans do so I was having to like, tell people that I was American and didn’t really get what they were saying.” I explained, giggling as Cheryl started giggling at me. Her brown eyes were twinkling...God I was staring again.
“Aw! You’ll get used to it babe! I kinda felt the same way when I first moved down to London; just had a lot to get used to. I know you must miss your family and stuff though yeah?” she asked. I nodded, sighing quietly to myself. I did miss my family, but hopefully I would be able to go home and see them soon. They were all thrilled for me and my new job, especially my mother, who was pretty much telling everyone back home about it.
Cheryl obviously could see that I was slightly down about missing my family, which led to her reaching over and putting her hand on my knee. I looked up at her, smiling slightly as she smiled back at me, her dimples glowing.
“We’ll make you feel at home here, pet; I will especially.” she told me. I just smiled at her, giving her hand a squeeze.
We chatted for a further fifteen minutes, just getting to know each other and finding out different little things about each other, laughing as we shared stories about our dogs, me laughing at her funny stories involving years of show business. I was having a really nice time talking to her.
I had also noticed that she was staring at me quite a bit as well. Everytime I’d be talking, I’d look up and see her just staring at me with her bright brown eyes, almost as if she was gazing into my very soul, taking in every word I was saying. I had sworn that her gaze had shifted down to my chest one time, and even down to my legs that were on display due to the short skirt, but then again, it could’ve been just wishful thinking. Pft, who was I kidding..
No way was Cheryl checking me out...pft..keep dreaming...
