When I wake up in the hospital my grandpa is sitting right beside me with his his hands covering his face. I try to get up but there is tubes through my nose.
"Amy don't get up your hurt." He said calmly.
"Lou?" I whispered.
"Long time no see! How are you feeling?" She asked me.
"Fine. Where's mom?" I asked.
When I said that, there faces were full of sadness. Even if they tried to hide it, I could see it in their eyes.
"Amy.... I'm sorry. Your mom didn't make it." Grandpa told me with a tear running down his face.
Lou covers her face with her hand and sniffle.
"No. No. No." I cried.
I turn over on my side. All of the pain rushes through. It's all my fault.

The next morning the hospital releases me and Lou and grandpa take me home in his rusty orange and white truck. Our house is like a memorial. There is pictures of her everywhere. Lou takes my coat and hangs it up on the coat rake next to the front door.
That night i had a nightmare. I dreamt about the night of the accident. Going to Mr. Fells farm like mom told me not to. I just couldn't leave that black horse there to be abused.
"Amy your friends have been blowing up the phones wondering if your okay and when you going to be back at school." Lou told me.
I look away and stare at the picture of mom and her horse Pegasus!
"Amy it's not your fault. Mom saves abused horses. You did what was right." She told me.
"Yea and now look at my mom. She is dead. She is dead because I had to tell her about Mr. Fells stupid barn. I shouldn't have told her. I shouldn't have told her." I say crying.
"Mom would have found out even if you wouldn't have told her." She told me.
I roll my eyes and walk to room.

"Scott watch out!" Jack (grandpa) yelled.
"Woah Boy! Woah!" Scott grabs the lead and forces the horse to get in a stall.
"You got yourself a fighter!" Scott told Jack!
"What would you recommend?" Jack asked.
"I would say put it down. The horse is in a lot of pain." Scott told him.
"My daughter died saving that horse and my granddaughter almost died saving that horse too. Putting it down is not an option." Jack said.
"Grandpa what are you doing?" I asked crossing my arms.
"Do you like him? He is your new horse!" Grandpa told me.
"Just put him down. I can't fix him." I told him walking away.
Grandpa struggles to keep the horse under control.
Every night since the accident, I had dreams of that. I wake up sweeting bullets and screaming and yelling. Why did she have to die?
