"Amy! Surya is on the phone." I jump up and run to the phone.
"Surya! Oh my gosh! I've missed you! How was your trip? I asked.
"It was good! How are you feeling?" She asked me.
"I'm fine!" I told her trying not to be obvious.
"When will you be home?"
"Tomorrow! We need to go on a ride!" She said.
"That can be arranged!" I told her with a little laugh.

The next morning, Surya comes to the ranch. We saddle our horses and we get ready to leave.
"Are you guys going on a ride?" Mallory, our neighbor, asked.
"Yes Mallory but only us." I told her as we rode away.
Half way down the trail a blue truck with bags, boxes and a motorcycle in the back, comes up the dirt road. Blaring music spooks the horses and they start to buck. I run after the truck.
"Amy? Amy what are you doing?" Surya asked from a distance.
"Seeing what kind of idiot drive a truck with blaring music by horses." I yelled back.
As I ride towards the ranch I stop Rocky, the horse I was riding, right in idiots face!
"Woah! What's your problem?" He asked surprised.
"Oh nothing, you know just a day when and idiot drives a truck with blaring music around horses." I said sarcastically!
"What can I help you with?" Jack asked the mysterious boy.
He looks at me to grandpa.
"Marian somebody hired me to help on a ranch for my probation." He said.
Grandpa takes the papers from his hand.

"Ty Borden." Grandpa told Lou.
"Why would mom hire some boy to help on the ranch?" She asked.
"I don't know but it's for his probation." He told her.
"Probation? We can't have someone who is on probation at Heartland. It's hard enough get business now." She said.
"What did her do?" Mallory asked.
"That is for me to know and only me. Don't your family miss you?" He asked.
"My parents are out. Date night. They said I could come over here until they get home. Plus Copper (Mallory's horse) needs to be lunged." She told us.

Grandpa took the papers out back to Ty who was sitting on the edge of his truck about to lite a cigarette.
"No smoking here!" Jack said pulling the cigarette out of his mouth.
"Okay.."
"I'll show you your room!" Jack said leading the way.
Jack lead him to the loft above the barn.
"I have a question." Ty said.
"and what might that be?" He asked.
"What is the deal with the babes?" He asked.
"Do your mean my granddaughters?" He asked.
"Oh your granddaughters well..." Jack cut him off.
"You stay at least 10 feet away from them. Any closer, you will be removed." He told him."
"Okay." Ty said.
"Now get to work!" Jack ordered.
