❉CHAPTER 3❉
"WAKING UP"

Waking up to an aching body.

Wait. Huh? Wasnt I just with the goddess? Why does everything hurt? Waves of deep, throbbing pain mixed with sharp, stabbing agony. That was all I could feel.

But trying to open my eyes was even harder, I could barely do it, it was too tiring to do so. But I did it anyway, forcing it wide open to see. . . A jail?

Well, not necessarily a jail. But there were metal bars all around me. But the space was small and tight. Ah. No the more I looked at the thing I was In, it wasn't a jail. But something like a cold small metal cage. Something that you would maybe throw an animal into. But even animals didn't deserve to be caged in such a horrid conditions.

And it was so tight, it pressed and squeezed against my body. It was so compact that I could barely even shift my head and when I even did there wasn't even much I could see due to a fabric draped over the cage I was in besides from a small gap that the fabric didn't cover. So I decided to listen at first. Trying to focus on the noises.

From what I could gather it seemed to be a forest due to rustle of trees, the wind howling in the distance and the sound of hooting by an owl in the distance.  I could also assume I was in the back of what I could assume to be a caravan.

Specifically the old ones you would assume and see in a medieval movie because I could hear horses and the heavy footsteps as they uttered out neighs and Huff's from their noses.

With the information I had gathered I decided to try look at my surroundings through the gap of the fabric. And so I did, i squinted my eyes, trying to look and the more I squinted i realised there were more and more of these damned cages.

Each cage inside of it consisted of other children. Who were also out cold or sobbing quietly to themselves? Not daring to be loud as they covered their mouths with their hands as if to hush themselves. Their eyes not daring to look anywhere except the metal ground or to their own body. As if they were scared at what would happen otherwise.

Focusing my eyes on the surrounding children that didn't have the fabrics drapes on, I could make out that all of the children seemed to be barely around the age of six, and maybe the oldest that I could see could be around to be nine and the youngest from what I could see in the darkness to be four. But what I knew for certain that everyone in the cages were all young children.

But what made it worse was that all of the children had some wounds on them, whether it be bruises or pure bloodied scars. Blood splatters stains all over their clothes. Some seeming to be dry or still new. What made  It most likely had happened to me as well and is the cause of the aching on me.

Ah. Damn you, goddess. To think I got excited at the idea of a new life. What the fuck is this?

But soon the caravan came at a stop and footsteps could be heard and over to the back. I quickly shut my eyes acting as if I was still knocked out but kept one eye barely open to see what was going on.

And soon, a saw the figure. And that outfit.
