Happy birthday to sparkvamp on tumblr! I love your silly little art and I wanted to finish this chapter as a gift :)
=====
In this land, in this beautiful land, there were two rulers.
The Queen, with her long black-and gold robes that always seemed to drag on the floor. She'd long since lost herself to the pursuit of magic- always carrying some new item of interest. Her hair had long since been replaced by a red mass that could pick things up and hold them just as well as any working hand could.
Luckily, she was the much younger of the two and had not fully risen to power yet.
And the King. Considerably more aloof than his sister. He had long, white hair that was shaved on one side. A red, white, and gold outfit that was almost too eccentric for his laid-back personality. For the whole time he'd been in power, not once had anyone seen him angry. Perhaps that was due to his fascination with alcohol, leaving him almost perpetually drunk. Surprisingly enough, he was hard to catch, always being gone before you could blink. It was like he had wings or something.
Sparkling shook himself out of his thoughts. He had a job to do, and a very important one at that. His task was simple: make a drink to impress their guests.
He didn't know who the guests were, but he knew they were important, since he had gotten the order from the King himself. He was determined not to mess up, and to hopefully do well enough to earn the King's favor.
The cookie looked around for ideas. The kitchen was full of stuff, surely he could come up with something?
His eyes landed on a bottle filled with a yellow liquid. He reached across the counter. Pineapple Juice, the label read. Perfect. This would do nicely. Now, he had an idea. He spotted another cookie walking into the kitchen.
"Pardon me, but would you happen to know if we have any coconuts around here?" He asked, with a smile. Beet Cookie, one of the other staff, jumped. "Sparkling! Uh... I'm not sure. Let me go check." And she disappeared.
While she was doing that, Sparkling pulled out five glasses. One for the King, and a few extras for the guests. He didn't know how many cookies would be coming, so it would be good to come prepared. He poured some pineapple juice into each glass. They were medium sized, but he still didn't want to overdo it.
Hearing footsteps, he looked towards the entrance. Beet Cookie was nowhere to be seen, but Spinach Cookie stood in the doorway, holding a round, green, coconut. "Hey. Heard you were looking for one of these." She said, holding it up. He nodded, not quite looking her in the eyes but instead at her long green hair. "Yes. I need the juice for my drinks."
She walked past him, still holding it, and pulled out a large knife from a rack. "You should try some of the flesh, it's actually quite good."
Sparkling looked away, instead surveying the various bottles of alcohol that were contained right next to the juice. "No, thank you. I don't like the texture." Sparkling responded, finally choosing one labeled Sweet. "Oh, really? What a shame. Perhaps you can have some dried?"
He felt a spark of annoyance at her words. Why did she feel the need to make him try it when he'd already said he wouldn't? But he pushed the feeling away, having to maintain his usual cheery attitude. "Perhaps."
When he looked over again, there was a hole in the coconut. He didn't know how she had managed that, considering how tough their exteriors were. He reminded himself not to get on her bad side. "Thank you. I'll take that." He said, reaching for it. She deposited it into his hands, hole side up. He poured the juice inside into each glass, but when he got to the last one, no more came out.
