Chapter 12

Mitsuya

Two days ago...

"I'll buy meat for dinner, Akio is coming and he likes meat." I whisper to myself as I walk to the plaza. I halt when I saw a familiar figure in a small alley talking to a group of guys wearing a gang uniform. I walk closer to confirm my hunch and I was right! it's y/n.

"Leave the kid alone." She said in an angry tone, At the side, I saw a kid maybe he's in middle school sitting on the floor and looked scared.

"You?! Threatening us?" The guy laughs. "How can a small girl will beat us?"

y/n took something from her pocket making the guy step back. it's a hair tie. she ties her hair in a messy pony and loosens her school necktie.

"If you won't leave I don't have a choice but to fight you." She said. The group of guys laughed loud.

"Okay, I'll grant your wish but prepare to get hurt little missy." The guy charges at her. I was about to run and save her when she suddenly kick the guy making him lay on the ground, unconscious.

And then it hit me. It's the same kick as Akio. I step back and watch them, I watch her fight and I am not mistaken it's Akio's moves.

I have seen similarities between Akio and y/n when y/n and I started dating. I got to know her more and we spend time together. I noticed some details of her mannerisms are the same as Akio but I brushed it off, thinking it was only a coincidence.

My suspicion rise when I brought y/n to meet the boys. Whenever y/n is in the hideout, Akio has an excuse not to go same as y/n, whenever there's a meeting she refused to come. I just can't put them at the same room.

A couple of minutes passed and the four guys are lying on the floor unconscious. y/n walk towards the kid. She crouches down to match his level.

"Are you okay?" She asked. The kid just nods.

"Be careful next time okay? There's a lot of bad people lurking around." She took something from her pocket. She opened it and it's a band-aid. She puts it on the kid's wound on the knee.

"Thank you, Miss. You're strong."

"You're welcome." She smiled.

And before they exit the alley I walk away. My heart beats fast, what if my hunch is right? This means the confusing feeling that I felt between Akio and y/n is because they are the same person? I am not going crazy liking two different people?

The next day we're at the rooftop eating our lunch. As I watch her, I have this urge to confirm what I am suspecting. Since yesterday I can't stop thinking about it. She told me before that there's a secret that she cannot share yet, what if this is her secret? and why did she do this? Who is she?

I scoot closer to her, she didn't mind since she's used to me being clingy. I remove the hair from her shoulder revealing her neck. I gently pull her blouse so I can see her shoulder.

She looked at me confused. I stared at her as I started to plant tiny kisses on her shoulder. I didn't break my eye contact. My body starts to feel like burning, She's so pretty with that expression.

"Taka-" She froze when I started to leave marks. I heard her let out a faint moan. Shoot! I got carried away. When I'm sure that she has the mark, I let go and fix her blouse.

"What's that for?" She asked, her face and ears are red. "You can't do that every time you want to. we're at the school!"

"Sorry, I can't help it," I said as I stuck my tongue out, teasing her.

Present-day...

And here we are. I kissed her and saw the mark on her shoulder. Akio is y/n!

"What? What are you talking about, Mitsuya-san?"

"Don't deny it, y/n or I will kiss you again." She stares at me for a while and looks down.

"I'm sorry." She mumbled. I didn't respond because I am processing things. This whole time I fell in love with the same person.

"Are you disappointed? I can't blame you if you are. Are you gonna break up with me?"

I look at her. "I am not disappointed, I was shocked and no, I will not break up with you, Remember what I told you before? I will wait for you to tell me your secret and will try to understand why you keep this."

"But before I tell you why I pretend to be a boy, how did you find out?"

"I saw some similarities between you and Akio before. I just brushed it off, then the other day, I saw you help a kid. You beat four guys and have the same kick as Akio. I purposely put a mark on you so I can check if Akio will have marks too."

"But why did you kiss me?"

"I just feel it." I chuckled. "I am so worried that I like two different people that I might end up cheating on you but I'm glad that you both are the same person."

"So you liked me as a girl and as a boy."

"Yeah." I scratch the back of my head. She became silent for a while like she's mustering her courage before she speak.

"I joined Toman to prove to my brothers that I am worthy to be Haitani."

"Haitani? Ran and Rindou Haitani are your brothers?" I said in shock. y/n just nod.

"They told me that if I can get in and win against them wearing Toman's uniform, they will acknowledge me. They will announce that I am their sister."

I look at her, confused. She got what I meant and continued to talk. "I was a product of our father's unfaithfulness. He got his secretary pregnant which is my mother. I was not welcome to their family and after my mom died, my father threw me here in Shibuya." She chuckled a bitter one. "He showered me with material things and money, but he didn't give me his last name so I'm using my mom's. I am all alone, Takashi. I just wanted to have a family."

I pulled her into a hug. So that's why she's trying her best to be a perfect student. She wants to please her father. She joined Toman to be accepted by her brothers.

"At first, I joined Toman thinking that it's just my stepping stone to be recognized but I fell in love with the gang. You all welcomed me like I'm your my family. Whatever happens after the fight, Takashi. I want to remain Toman if Mikey will allow it. I also plan to tell you guys after the fight and let you all decide if I can stay."

"Don't worry about that, y/n I will be by your side. I'll back you up. Just focus on your goal."

"Thank you, Takashi."

"Thank you for telling me, y/n."

I was about to kiss her again when my door suddenly opens.

"Dude! Are you doing something?" Baji said. y/n panicked and pushed me, making me fall on the floor.
