Mackenzie's POV:
As we walked in the park, Maddie nudged my elbow and pointed into the distance. "What do you see,Mackenzie?" She asked me, I saw horses? Wait! Horses! "I see horses, Maddie! I see horses! But why?" I answered. "Let's run and see them" so we ran all the way to the stables, "Hi Maddie and Mackenzie! What's with the duffel—-" Maddie's best friend Kendall was brushing the horse's mane but she was interrupted by Maddie "Hey Kendall! Can we keep this horse?!" Maddie said interrupted Kendall in mid-sentence "Erm...okay. But why?" Kendall asked. "We need a place to stay and we need something we can travel on" I blurted out, Kendall seemed shocked and surprised at the same time "Yes. You can keep Carmella" she said with sympathy. Maddie went to jump onto Carmella the horse, she lifted me up and I sat in front of her. I held the duffel bags and squealed at the same time. "Thanks Kendall!" Maddie shouted as she rode Carmella out into the streets, Kendall waved in the distance.
"Maddie? It's been forever since—" I was strucked dumb when I saw frozen trees and log cabins' roofs filled with snow, "It's only been 2 hours,you fell asleep and I rode out into the countryside to find us a safer place to live in" Maddie said. There was a small log cabin, I trudged throughthe snow to get inside the cabin. With one push of my hand the door opened, I saw food on the table and when I mean food I mean good food. A roast turkey, beef pie with mash potatoes, orange juice and tiramisu! Maddie dismounted Carmella and walked into the cabin too, "Kenzie, meet Amberia. Our foster parent, and her roommate Grace" Maddie introduced me to a tall girl,long straight brunette hair who was Amberia and the other was Grace. I glared at Maddie, this is what I get after only eating bread for over 4 days. Amberia shook my hand with enthusiam, while Grace talked to Maddie. Was this the end of Maddie and I roaming the streets by ourselves?
