anticipation. there she stood ready to go to her new school. it was a new beginning for her. she glanced up at the building as she sighed. she didn't know anyone there. just her all by herself. she was very nervous. she waited patiently for somebody to show her around the school. a tall blonde boy approached her. he smiled, "you must be ava, right? i'm going to be showing you around". she replied "and you are?". "leo" he said. they walked through the corridors as he showed her all her classes. she was surprised how nice he was to her. ava enjoyed her first day more than she expected. she didnt know what she was so worried about. 3:00, it was the end of the school day. she went to her locker to get her stuff together and went to go walk home. as she was walking, a boy rushed over to her. it was leo. he said pantingly "can i walk with you? if you don't mind". his group of friends were cheering him on as she smiled "yeah of course". they were laughing the whole time, she had never felt this happy before. they looked into each others eyes until her face lit up pink and she nervously turned away. "bye" she said as she walked to her house door. there in her living room her family and her best friend sat. "how was it?!" they asked. "it was fine" as a smile came to her face. she walked upstairs to her room and laughed because she never felt happier. then her friend entered. "what are you laughing about?" she responded "nothing"...
"ok fine there was this boy" she said. "ooo whats he like?". ava smiled, "nice, tall, cute, pretty". they both jumped excitingly. then ava and ella (her best friend) went to the beach to watch the sun set and ate ice cream. they had a good time. as they were about to drive back home ava saw leo swimming in the sea. she went over to say hi. she changed into her swim suit as she jumped in to the sea to go swim with him. ava isn't the best swimmer so leo was holding her up as they swam together. he was eyeing her, as she looked back at him he smirked and turned away. she turned his head back towards her as she pulled him in and kissed him. meanwhile ella was waiting for ava to drive her back home. "ava!" she shouted "lets go!". "one second!" ava yelled. it had been half an hour and ava was still swimming with leo and his friends. ella got frustrated that she was still swimming as avas parents would get mad at her for not being back home on time. ella groaned as she got in her car and slammed the car door as she drove off. ava gasped in disbelief although she realised she should of listened. ava asked leo if he could take her home. then they walked to his car for him to drop her off. "see you tomorrow" he said while she went inside. she went upstairs into her room, avoiding her parents because she got home late. her dad knocked on her door as she opened it slowly. "why did u get home so late?". she murmured "i lost track of time". "well don't do it again or your grounded!". ava didn't seem to care as she had just kissed leo. she laid on her bed as she grinned about what had happened. it was the next day of school. she brushed her teeth, picked out an outfit and brushed her hair and then she was ready to go. this time she was more nervous than yesterday. it could be because she had proper lessons today or maybe it was because she and leo kissed. she wasn't sure. she waited for ella to come and pick her up. this time she was running late, but ella is never usually late. ava realised ella might be still annoyed at her so she walked to school. she hurried into class a bit late. all the students looked at her as only leo and his friends knew that she was new to the school. "sorry i'm late" she said tensely. she went to go sit in a seat. she felt like everybody was watching her. a group of boys came over to her and started talking to her. they were all so nice. she looked to who she was sitting next to. she was sitting next to a girl with blonde shortish hair. "hey i'm ava" she said, the girl rolled her eyes "yeah, i heard"
ava was confused on why the girl was being rude. "whats your name?" ava asked. the girl looked at her judgingly "evelyn" she answered.
evelyn seemed to be talking about ava to her friend group in a unfriendly way. ava didn't know why she was being so horrible to her.
then leo and ava were flirting while ava accidentally walked into evelyn. evelyn looks at her nastily and pushes her over. evelyn laughs as leo helps her up. "what did you do that for?" leo says. evelyn doesnt reply. ava stands their silently as she looks over at evelyn and evelyn looks back "what are you looking at?" evelyn says, then ava looks in a different direction. she felt as if she wanted to cry. she wanted to go back home but she didn't want to seem weak. then it was lunch time, ava wasnt sure who she should sit by. not because no body liked her. pretty much everybody liked her. already, she is one of the most popular people in the school. she just couldn't decide who to sit with because there are so many people who wanted her to go with them. so she went outside of the school property to go to see if she could get food with ella. ava walked quickly because school lunch was an hour long and ella lives somewhat far away. after a while, she arrived at ellas house. ava knocked on the door and ellas mum opened the door. "can you tell ella to come here" ava said. "ELLA!" she shouted. ella strolled downstairs and saw ava and suddenly stopped. "what are you doing here?" she asked furiously. "i don't know why you're so mad at me, but can we just get food?". "fine" ella sighed. they went to get food at mcdonalds quickly before the next lesson started. ella drove ava to school just in time. ava went to her biology lesson and sat down. a girl approached her, it was evelyn. "move" she said impolitely. "how do you have friends" ava mumbled as she walked away. ava then got introduced for the 5th time today. she felt very awkward when everybody looked at her. it was the end of the day. by now she has made many friends. she walked home with leo and some of her new friends aidan, isla, and maya. when she got home a voice shouted "how was school", it was ella. "it was okay apart from this one girl called evelyn shes horrible to me for no reason". "punch her" she laughed. "so whats going on with you and leo?" ella asked "well i like him and i think he might like me but we just met" ava said. ella nodded her head. that night ella and ava stayed up watching films before ella left to go to her nans house. ava went to get ready to go to sleep, she was dreading school the next morning as evelyn is so spiteful towards her. meanwhile ella arrived at her nans house, she knocked on the door but there was no answer. the car was parked outside so she must be home. she continuously knocked the door and rang her nans phone but there was still no answer. she was standing there late at night in the freezing cold and didn't know how to get inside the house. then ella got a phone call from a random number. it was the hospital! her nan had a stroke. she was terrified so ella ran to her car and sped off to the hospital as fast as she could. she got to the hospital and saw her nan laying on a hospital bed. she looked so confused of what had happened. ella was extremely worried and talked to her nan trying to keep calm, but her nan couldnt talk properly. the stroke had effected her speech, aswell as she had difficulty understanding what her granddaughter was telling her. ella cried as she was in complete shock of the situation. her nan needed some rest so ella took the key for the house and left the hospital. by now it was really early in the morning, she felt exhausted. she went inside the house and cried until she fell asleep. it was 7:00am, ava woke up to prepare for school. she checked her phone and got a message from ella telling her that she wouldn't be able to take her to school that morning, as she went to go visit her nan in hospital again due to the stroke. ava was devastated for ellas nan, ella seemed so upset when she talked to her over the phone. ava didnt have anyone to take her to school so she went to the bus stop to catch a bus. the bus arrived at the school 10 minutes late. the school was pretty strict on lateness so she got a break time detention. then, as ava enters her first lesson a teacher calls her outside. he tells her she had been one of the names mentioned for stealing food from the canteen. ava tried to tell the teacher that she had not stolen anything but the teacher was convinced she was one of the students who did it. ava had been given an after school detention along side someone else, she wasn't sure who because their name wasn't mentioned. ava then went back into the classroom, leo came over to her and hugged her from behind. evelyn looked at them "can you do this somewhere else" leo walked back to his seat. avas friend, maya said "you know evelyn and leo used to date right? im guessing she is mean to you because shes jealous of you". ava was suprised, she didn't know how leo could of ever liked her, yeah evelyn is pretty but shes cruel. at break time ava goes with her friends to put some books in her locker. when she arrives at her locker she sees it has been graffitied. "loser" was written repeatedly on to it. ava felt annoyed by what had happened. down the corridor ava see's evelyn giggling with her friends while looking in her direction. it was obvious to ava that evelyn had done it, ava got really frustrated at her "fuck off!" ava shouted down the hallway. evelyn and her friends walked past ava as evelyn slams her shoulder into ava. ava was enraged but she didn't do anything
about evelyn, after all she was a lot weaker than her. later that day, ava walks to the designated classroom for her after school detention. she walks in and sitting there is evelyn...
