"Everyone listen up!" I yell for all the werewolves to hear. My dad, rush in beside me out of curiousity and support, as I continue, "Tonight is what you all came here for and we do not have time. You want to become the Alpha King? We here's what the Mayari, The Moon Goddess, had said to me yesterday:
"There is a great war coming. Ragnarok will come to the foreign land to annihilate the lasts of Loki's heirs. The awakening is approaching. The blue moon is her birth and so is the power within. Find the queen, protect. Your mate, is among you. Your wolf will guide you to her. You will need her. Ragnarok will awaken the avenging beast of the lake and my power is not enough to hold him within. Kill the beast, delay Ranarok. The descendants of the great wolf will live on."
Leaving out the prophesy she specifically gave to my mom. They don't know who the prophesized Alpha King was, so I'll leave it as is.
"I don't know about the rest of the message, but Ragnarok means, war in general term. Tonight is the awakening and we have Black Shucks surroung the clearing. It intends to kill Luna, the now awakening Wolf Queen. Protect the queen with you life at all cost!"
A tap on my shoulder cut me through my speech, it was my father, but he's attention is not on me, but on the clearing, on Luna still sitting in the middle of it despite the threat surround her. She's on a trance, only now did I realize it. How that's not what caight my dad's attention; it was the Black Shucks, they are all materializing! From black shadowy figures to huge black wolves! Wolves bigger than us! The light from the blue moon has not faded yet, but from the looks of it, the black shucks are already preparing to attack Luna.
"Everyone! Attack the blood hounds! Now!" We all attack at once. I immediately pounce the nearest beast I can find. Dragging it away from the clearing as hard and as fast as I can and lunge for it's throat, biting down on it and tugging it, tearing it off from it's neck until I'm sure it's dead. I don't know why they didn't shift back into their shadow form, but what appears like that it needs to be in thier physical forms in order to attack. However, one thing I notice that stuck to me, no blood hound is attacking any of us. They keep on going back to the clearing, trying their best to get into the clearing that is currently protect by the blue moonlight.
I bark to the werewolf packs around to keep the beasts away from the clearing and to keep on killing before the awakening finishes.
I made a run to my next victim and pounce on its back, but before I even connected to the blood hound, it froze, and all of a sudden in one burst all of the blood hound started attacking all of us, as if someone is controlling all of them. Many of the pack warriors along with the junior alphas and alphas were surprised by the sudden change of pace of the fight. This got me a second, too late to respond. A second is all it takes for me to get a clean swipe on my left shoulder, and getting thrown several foot away from it. But it's focus is now locked on it's new prey: me.
I growl deep and long. Releasing my alpha dominance making the earth beneath my paws to shake around me. Focusing the force of my growl deep within the earth infront of me, for as long as I can, until I can no longer it in and release a strong loud resounding barking echoe towards the beast. The air shifted harshly forward like a sonic boom, throwing the beast a few yards away from me, making it bowl with another blood hound on its way until they both ended up skewered in a dead bark of a tree. Leaving a long whimpered howl of the dying wolves until their last remaining breath is gone.
Night is high on bloodlust frenzy and lets out a victorious howl. Happy that he killed two beast in one burst of energy that I didn't know he even had. 'It's gift from moon goddess. Let's use it, she approves'
The moon goddess is on our side. With this new information, I give out a loud bark to all of the wolves to do what I just did, to make use of the temporary power the goddes has given just for tonight.
I ran around helpimg other warriors who are having difficulty fighting against the beast. Chomping down flesh and growling while biting them down makes them explode into pieces. Gross, but it has to be done. Only two abilities were given by the moon goddess: the sonic boom of a bark and growling while biting them.
Slowly but surely, the blood hounds are starting to dwindle in numbers. Some are injured but still holding on to keep on fighting itls way to get into the clearing. Some that was able to get through, were thrown back across the field to be maulled by our packs until they die. Only one is remaining now and it knows that it is out numbered and is now surrounded. All of growling and huffing and is getting ready to pounce. I am about to lunge at it, but a sudden shrill scream cut through the night in the middle of the last fight. I stop on my mid-atrack and swing my wolf head to the sound.
Luna's body is now lying prone in the middle of Mayari's clearing. Turning and twisting in contortions that no humans can recreate. The blue light shining down from the moon is also changing into silvery white light.
'Mate is shifting!' Night growls in my head.
I bark to other wolves to finish off the last beast fast. Then let out another bark ordering the wolves to surround the clearing to serve as shields incase another pack of blood hounds decides to attack Luna while she completes her shifting.
We suround the clearing in to circles. The inner circles is made up of the Alphas, Junior Alphas and the Gammas, while the outer circle are made up of the warriors as soon as the circle is complete, is also when the blue moon faded. Replaced by the normal silvery white light by the moon shining down on her writhing body. But that's not all, the silvery white light keeps on glowing until it completely blinded us all.
It only takes a second of blindness, as soon as its gone, their is already a golden wolf standing in the clearing, whimpering and groaning from the pain of shifting.
Gasps and awe were heard everywhere from the surrounding wolves. We have never seen such a beautiful wolf before. A golden wolf in that matter. There was golden deer rumored in France suring the 1800s. The village people there believes that it was a shape shifting goddess of the forest. But a golden werewolf? I have never of one before!
'Mate!' Night growls, making me growl but I hold it in not to alert the other wolves around me. The sky is still lit up and the silvrey white light isn't gone yet. Something... something is about to happen.
The golden wolf make its hardest to stand on it's paws, whimpering as soon as it sees it. Her head shot around and sees us in our wolf forms and it whimpered even more.
'Mate is scared. Need to shift to human.' Night says. I ordered a bark to shift back to our human forms in order for Luna to feel safe. Night turns around and gave way to allow me to shift back to my human form. Reaching for my warrior as he hands my a short hidden above the tree trunk and wearing it. The other wolves followed my lead. I turn back around to Luna, and found her turning her head around here and there.
'Mate is confused'. But before I say a word, a sudden flash of light struck the ground near Luna's golden wolf, making her jump in fright. But instead of a fire on the ground as soon as lightning is gone, is a a pale white woman with shoulder-length, wavy, dark hair and hazel-brown eyes, wearing a shear-white greecian gown, embelished with gold armlet, gold wrist braces, golden chain-belt, and a golden quarter-moon tiara perched on her forehead, standing before us all.
She is holding a floor length staff, the same height as her, that is lit with blue fire; like the blue moonlight from earlier. Another flash of light on the other side of Luna struck the soil again. And unlike before, this one, I know. It's the country's very own ancient moon goddess, Mayari, wearing her own traditional garb. So that means the other woman is...
"The Greek Moon Goddess, Selena..." dad whispered in awe beside me.
The Moon Goddesses, Selene aka Selena in Filipino, and Mayari are both here-but why? Are we really in a very dire situation?
