Prologue: The ugly truth

I'm bitter in my heart. Mama sold me,
for candy. I was ruined from the start.

Humans do anything to save themselves, even if it means sacrificing others.

Jailbreak Arc
Presents:
The art of being a menace-learning the ugly truth-
the owl man-a sister with a pen- a lost brother.

Humans, they are all the same.

That's why they don't evolve properly, they act in ways only beneficial for them, they all think they are innocent and that they are a good person, but deep inside their souls, there's a monster waiting to come out.

They justify their acts by saying it's for their own good. And in the end, it's not worth it, they realize they acted without caring for the consequences, and ended up losing what they cared about most.

What an odd way of co-existing.

They sacrifice each other, using a million excuses to justify it, 'It was for our own good', they are just selfish by nature, they hunt and devour the innocent; and sometimes, they even do it for fun.

That's just evil they can be, they kill and eat the prey, but before they do, they toy with it, torture it, break it. And even if they are not hungry anymore, they rather overfeed themselves instead of sharing,

But what happens when the human becomes the prey?

My, how the tables have turned.

Grace Field House, an orphanage filled with love where the kids and the caretaker are one big family. Moonlight reflected itself from the orphanage's windows, especially in the library, where four kids had sneaked in late at night.

"The end,"

A [h/c] girl said, as she closed the book she was holding, she glanced at the three kids beside her, two of them had a sweet smile on their face, Ray, a dark-hairded boy with forest green eyes sighed.

The windows and the lantern beside them were their only source of light, creating a 'spooky' atmosphere.

"It was great!" said Emma an orange-haired girl with electrifying green eyes, she leaned her head on the raven-nette's shoulder. [Name] handed the book back to Norman, a snow-haired boy with bright blue eyes. The albino patted her head, then shuffled her [h/c] hair.

"I still think it was a bad idea to sneak in," Ray said dryly.

"But you do it all the time!" Emma huffed the raven-nette rolled his eyes.

"Yeah but unlike you, I don't make noise or giggle at every single sentence of the book" Ray argued back, Norman chuckled shaking his head.

"Stop arguing! You're making too much noise" [Name] hissed. Both Emma and Ray stopped talking, but instead pointed at each other, whispering things like, 'It was her' or 'He's the one talking',
Norman sighed, glancing at the window, his brows furrowed, [Name] immediately took notice of this, her [e/c] eyes narrowing.

"Noman, is everything alright?" she asked, a hint of concern in her voice.

"Yeah, it's just.." he sighed, "What are we going do when we leave the orphanage?" [Name] blinked, she had never thought of that.
The question had caught the other two's attention, they had stopped silently bickering at each other.
