HENRY R. ADVENTURE JOURNAL!
My name is Henry, Henry Rosewood, I'm 8 years old and I'm the future pillar of the Rosewood's family and the next great London surgeon like my father! So, to accomplish this important mission, I am going to start writing all my observations in this journal starting today.
January 10, 1868 Yesterday my little brother Richard was born! He looked so tiny and adorable. They did not allow me to carry him, but I know that one day I will be able to take care of him and be a great example for him.
My little brother has beautiful blue eyes like my father's, and my mother's... And my sister's... Why was I the only one who was born different? I like the colour of my right eye, but Mrs. Pryor says that colour must have been the fault of a curse from God, some sin that I may have committed in a past life.
My father says that God loves us all equally, so I know I shouldn't be afraid of him or feel sorry for myself, plus why should I really? If I don't remember doing anything wrong.
Ms. Rosalie Pryor's Diary.
February 21, 1870. I have been in the service of the Rosewood family since before Mr. Rosewood married Ms. Jekyll, so I had been very honoured to learn that I would be working with him in his new home with his new family. He's a pious, charitable and very intelligent man, always ready to help others; it's a pity that he is rarely seen around the house due to his exhaustive work. He's the only surgeon around here, after all, so he almost always has to leave his poor wife and me in charge of most of the housework.
At least her daughter has never been a problem since Ms. Emilie has become an exemplary lady, even better than her mother, but lately I fear that she is on the wrong track. Sometimes I see her leave her room late at night and when I have confronted her in the morning, she always gives me the same explanation: "I only went out for a glass of water." I don't want to mistrust her because she has always been such a perfect girl, but it terrifies me to think that her mother's mental deterioration is negatively affecting her.
Mrs. Rosewood hasn't been doing well the last few days; She barely eats, barely speaks, barely sleeps, and refuses to hold her baby again. Several nurses and apothecaries have seen her, but no one has been able to give her a cure for her strange ailment, even young Henry seems to be much better than his neglected mother.
Remembering young Henry, lately he has also seen him with behavioural changes, he's seen being more careless than usual; And not because the boy doesn't pay enough attention to his surroundings but because he doesn't seem to even notice them. What I mean is that he sometimes bumps into furniture or loses his balance for seconds; To my theory, this whole problem seems to be coming from his right eye, as I have found him scrubbing it in desperation.
I should report this to his father when he returns home, in case the child is suffering from a vision problem or something related.
