When Wheein arrives at the morgue, she is once again greeted by the APT and ushered inside. Wheein dons all protective equipment needed and meets Dr. Min at the table once again.
"Good evening, Doc. Great to see you again." She casually strides to him.
"Evening, Wheeinie. So, it's only you this time, huh?" Dr. Min looks up from his tickler. Wheein eyes the stack of documents on his side table.
"Yeah."
"How's Hyegi?"
"Waiting for new leads for that case." Wheein grimaces. Which is synonymous with, The case is about to run cold.
"I see. Poor Hyegi." He looks down and sighs. "Looks like we'll be drinking again once a certain someone gets a day off."
"Yeah. Looks like someone will order a case of soju then only drink one bottle."
They both chuckle.
"I'll make sure to buy her extra orders of gopchang." He looks down to his tickler concealing his smile, but Wheein can actually see his eyes.
"Are the results in?"
"Yep, they are." Yoongi hands the patients' files along with the latest results in it. Wheein selects the patient file on the top. Wheein opens it and reads the toxicology test results first. She sees the traces of cocaine and ecstacy in it. In the blood test she sees the high levels of adrenaline in the blood. She scours the other results too, it yielded similar results. So, what happened could have been a result of a really bad high? She moves to look at the bodies, she inspects them one by one, moving from one to another, until she gets to a particular one that seems to be beckoning her.
She moves to remove her glove, but the memory of the last time she did this hit her. Her blood begins to run cold, her palms sweaty as she remembers her last experience. How will it be this time? Will she experience it too? Just what heights of pain will she experience this time?
Wheein steels herself and finally removes her glove, while Yoongi observes her across the table. Eyes wide, Yoongi drops his tickler file on the table then he walks to stand beside her, anticipating the possible aftermath of what she is going to do.
"Hope it's not as bad as last time."
"For some reason, I highly doubt that."
"Well, brace ourselves, then."
She gulps and inhales deep, then softly touches the remnants of the supposed fully-burned victim's head. Wheein sees the room hazy as her vision transitions into the last moments of the victim's last memory.
The people were yelling, the sound of glasses breaking in the background are heard, as people are attacking each other.
Abruptly, she begins to feel her arms itch and feel as if something's crawling under her skin from her arms, to her shoulders, her chest, all over her body. She sees the victim raise their arms and scratch their body and limbs frantically. The itch was so much that the man frantically removed his coat and his undershirt. Gradually, she sees red patches on his arms, then palm-sized blisters begin to form on them. She doesn't like where this is going.
A blister pops along with others, body fluid, pus and blood begin to drain from the wound then a continuous stream of insects emerge from it. She could hear the buzzing sound of the flies, hornets, bees and others that she couldn't think about naming. They begin to bite the victim and many others in the room. She sees vague silhouettes of them batting the insects away. A minute goes by, then the maggots crawl out.
She feels his presence very strongly and hastily tries to look around. She sees him standing behind the counter of the dimly lit mini bar, looking at them impassively as if he's watching paint dry on a wall.
