After walking for roughly 5 minutes through the dimly lit streets We came across an old lodging house, It looked cozy and desolate so we decided to go inside. Once we entered The small brick building I took notice of all the small details of the room we were currently in, Therer was a large fireplace on the right side of the room with a large moose head hung above it. The front desk was made of shiny mahogany and the room had a slight smell of burning wood to it, Like the smell you are greeted with when you blew out a match, It was a rather pleasant scent.
"May i help you?" Asked the lady at the front desk, she spoke with a dull tone as if she didn't even register what she was saying.
"Yes actually" spoke up the marques. "We would like a room please." The woman eyed us both up and down, probably curious as to why an under age boy and girl weren't accompanied by an adult.
"Alright..." the lady spoke with a strong London accent, though she didn't sound posh at all as she failed to pronounce most of the letters in the word.
"10 shillings" I handed her the coins and in return she handed me the key to a room.
"Room 5." She spoke again in that dull accent of hers.

When we entered the room my eyes immediately went to the only bed in the room. Tewkesbury seemed to notice as well as he turned bright red when our eyes met.
"I- I cant sleep on the floor if you would like." He asked me scratching the back of his neck, his voice cracking awkwardly in the middle of the sentence. I knew it wasn't the worst idea, but I couldn't help but feel bad for the boy.
"Nonsense, We jumped out of a train together, I'm sure sharing a bed for a night wont do us any harm. Besides, its only weird if you make it weird."

The next morning
He stood up from the seat he was sitting in before making his way over to the dresser against the wall by the bed. On top of the dresser lay a newspaper, He picked it up and skimmed the first page before showing me.
"We are all over the news." He spoke with a low voice. My mind wandered back to the thoughts on us separating, Now it was way more important that we did due to Tewkesbury being a wanted man. But it is hard to leave behind a friend, especially a vulnerable one.
"I know.." I said before sitting down on the surprisingly comfortable bed, looking down at my hands, fiddling with my fingers on my lap, dreading what i had to say next.
I felt the happiness drain from me, my stomach growing heavy, a strange strain on the back of my throat.
He seemed to notice my anxiety as he crouched down in front of where i sat.
"Something is troubling you" He said softly, I had to be honest i was surprised by his sudden change in emotions.
I felt a tear roll down my cheek. "I'm sorry" I said laughing without humour.
"You must think me stupid." I whispered. His brows furrowed at my words.
"Tell me what is going on." He said, tilting his head forwards, speaking in a slightly concerned voice.
"I'm afraid i cant continue my journey anymore tewkesbury." My breath hitched in my throat before I let the next sentence leave my lips.
"At least not with you."
"What..." his words made me want to dissapear and tell him this whole conversations was a joke. His brows furrowed even more and his eyes wandered to the floor he was sitting on.
