"He's confirmed dead Kane, Alpha Braum confirmed it himself, he made it as far as his territory."
I snort. "That's fucking bullshit, I want to see his body."
My father gives me a look and I can't help but think the next words that come out of his mouth will definitely piss me off. "They burnt the body son, Theodin was their distant relative by blood, we cannot deny their wis-"
"BULLSHIT! And you fucking know it! The Braums have always been up to something, I've been telling you this for years and now you're telling me you don't see this shit?" I shout out, slamming the desk hard with my palm, making the objects in the room shake and the desk to crack.
I want to throw something, hit something, destroy everything I lay my eyes on.
Why won't he just fucking listen to me?
This isn't fucking right, none of it is right, I don't trust the Braum families word for shit, they've had strong relations to traitors in the past, I haven't fucking forgotten history, but it seems like some of us have, how can they be so blind to the obvious truth?
I'm not about to let history repeat itself, I want to see the fucking body.
"Kane, listen to what I'm telling yo-"
I open the door and walk out, slamming it behind me, hearing it break as I storm through the packhouse. "Un-fucking-believable." I mutter out seething mad.
Theodin.... nobody knows what he's capable of but me, I still remember that day I lost my soul, I thought he was a... friend.. I thought...
I was stupid to let myself not see the signs sooner, he was wrong, everything was wrong, the words in his mouth, his actions- reasons alone were suspicious, I knew that day.. that day we accidentally killed a human... I knew then what he really was.
The Theodin I know would not die that easily, he was a monster.
Age 13
"Kane, come on- I smell it, it's definiently a bear!" Theodin says grinning, tapping my wolf on the back.
I growl out lowly and start to get excited, bears were rare to find in these forests, to see one.. my father would pass the title to Alpha to me now if I showed how strong I was, I could take any creature, anyone who offers to fight me has always lost.
Theodin starts to chant something that makes sounds louder and it takes me a second to get adjusted to the feeling of hearing every single noise, I feel like my senses as a halfbreed have doubled and I can hear everything if I set my focus to it.
When I hear it, heavy footsteps and its grunting, I sniff the air to capture the scent, once I have it, I leap off the rock down to the ground and break off into a sprint towards the scent.
'It's been a while since we've had a kill' my wolf Dex says happily, I agree with him.
I sense behind me that Theodin had broken off into a sprint to catch up, being a Fae and a Grinmorte, Theodin was more powerful than people his kind, and me being more powerful than my kind, we had formed a bond on those terms.
I sniff the air and the scent is so close, I can practically inhale its scent, which is unlike anything I've smelled before, perhaps it's an older bear? Or a new species of bear? I don't think about it much as I start stalking towards my prey, keeping my movement to a minimum as I hear voices.
