It was the end of the first week of spring break and Olive was getting ready to get on the plane ride home from Hawaii. Then, an announcement is made over the loudspeaker. "I'm sorry to say that those on flight 362 will have to find another flight. The plane is having technical difficulties due to weather conditions."
"Oh no! That's our flight!" said Olive's mom, Pam. "I guess we will schedule a different flight."
Then the loudspeaker goes on again. "Sorry, but all flights out are canceled until further notice. Please find somewhere to stay because we cannot accommodate all of you at the airport. Thank you."
"Well hot diggity dog, that's too bad," says Doormatt, Olive's dad. "I guess we will have to find another hotel to stay at before they are all booked because of this weird delay."
So they got their bags and started walking out the door when Olive ran into someone and fell down.
"Owww. What was that?" She said.
"What I know you." The person she ran into said.
"Huh" said Olive and then she looked up "Romeo? Oh yeah, you are here for your vacation"
"Why are you still here?" Romeo asked.
"Our flight was canceled and now we have to find somewhere to stay." says Olive
"Oh no! All of the hotels are all booked up! We have nowhere to stay!" says Pam looking up from her iPhone 20 that she got early for being Apple's 10000000000000th customer.
"Hey you can stay with us in our giant beach house! We have a ton of extra room!" says Romeo's father.
"Uhhhhhhh....thanks! We would be out on the road if you didn't offer that!" says Doormatt.
Olive and Romeo knew each other from school. Their parents were also close friends, but the two of them never really talked.
Oh great. This will be fun thought Olive as they walked to the taxi cab station with Romeo's family.
