STAYING OVER

Ranboo was bouncing Micheal on their knee playfully when there was a knock at the door.

"Come in!" They called, picking Micheal up and setting him down. "Wait here, bud." They said, fluffy his hair. As they walked over to the door, it opened slowly and a familiar face peeked in.

But it wasn't Tommy's.

Jack Manifold bounded into the house, and Tubbo quickly got up and rushed over to where he stood with his grand Manifold-smile. "Hey, friends! Tommy invited me and Niki over!" He greeted, hands on his hips. "But . . . It's not his house . . ?" Ranboo spoke, confusion intertwined with slight issue. They shifted their weight to their right foot, playing with their fingers. "Oh. Right. Anyways, can we still come over?" Jack asked, clearly desperate. "That's fine by me." Tubbo and Ranboo spoke at the same time. As they laughed, a small, muffled voice was heard to be scolding someone.

"Tommy, where are you manners? Ranboo takes a lot of time watering those plants! You're better than this!" Niki yelled, in the process of coming inside. "Oh! Hey, Boo! Hey Tubbo!" She said with a look of guilt for yelling at the poor boy.

The nickname "Boo" made Tubbo slightly furious when he heard it from someone other than him. His eyes narrowed towards the girl, and his fists were clenched. That's the nickname only I call him I thought! Tubbo screamed in his head.

It was like Ranboo read his mind because they'd asked if both of them could have a moment and that they'd be right back.

"Hey, are you okay? You look angry." Ranboo asked, softly placing a hand on Tubbo's shoulder, cooling it down. Tubbo hadn't realized how hot his body was until they touched him. "Jesus, you're hot, temperature wise. Are you coming down with a fever?" They questioned, concern lingering in their voice. "I-I'm fine. Why'd Niki call you 'Boo'?" Tubbo stuttered, ears returning to where they usually were. His tail and ears must've lowered when he was fuming. "Oh, that's a nickname she gave me a while back when we first met. You both kind of had the same idea! But yeah, we're kind of like siblings to each other so don't take it personal." They finished with a knowing smirk. They know how I took it, Tubbo thought, blush blooming all over his face. "Let's go," Ranboo said whilst taking his hand. "They're probably confused."

The five of them looked at the pictures, laughed at the stories behind them, ate a fair dinner, and told stories around the fireplace. Niki and Jack weren't planning on staying, and they instead just wanted to catch up with their younger friends. Tommy, however, was planning on staying the night.

After their little reunion, Niki and Jack said their goodbyes and grabbed their coats and slipped on their boots. "See you soon, Niki! Love you, mwah mwah!" Ranboo called out, blowing sarcastic kisses towards her. "Oh, I love you too, Boo!" She replied, giggling with a beautiful smile. Her eyes almost glowed in the dim moonlight, and her hair was glistening in the cascades of light pouring from the stars above.

TW: DOUBTFUL THOUGHTS
As they shut the door, they looked over to Tubbo who had his arms crossed and his eyes narrowed up at Ranboo. "Tubs is jealous~" Tommy teased behind him, dragging the 's' out. "Oh, shut up." He grumbled, walking towards Micheal's room which was illuminated by a soft lamp and filled with Micheal and Shroud's laughter. Ranboo and Tommy stayed back for a second before walking in. "He's a funny little guy, innit?" Tommy said softly, leaning on the other. Ranboo hummed in response. "It's fun to tease him. It's pretty cute when he blushes and gets all protective over me—like we aren't married and we're just a young, simple couple. I feel as if he wants more of me, like he loves me but I'm not enough or just really annoying to have to teach memory games to every damn day." The more they talked, the softer their voice became. The last part Ranboo spoke was just above pure silence.

Tommy pat their back lightly. "Tubbo talks about you a lot. He cares about you, Ranboo. He's bragged to me about how his memory games are helping you get back into how it used to be. He's proud of you, he really is. Please don't say these sorts of things, they're disheartening." Tommy finished, every word sincere and honest. His eyes were locked on Ranboo's, brows slightly furrowed with sympathy. He pulled them into a hug, breaking the piercing eye contact. He hugged them tightly, rubbing their back softly with his hands. "Thanks, Tommy. I don't think I'd survive without you." They laughed softly, voice coarse from holding back tears. Tommy broke the hug after a while and walked slowly into the room, the two hand-in-hand.

The rest of the night went pretty well, and they played games, watched movies, played with their kids, and told stories while half-asleep.

"What if I was Captain Puffy for a day?" Tubbo slurred, almost passed out on Ranboo's shoulder. "Buh dah, ding dong splong." Ranboo blurted. The other two boys nodded in (attempted) formal agreement. "What if we went swimming?" Tommy said with excitement. "That'd awaken our dumb brains." He thought aloud, bonking his head with his fist with an ouch. "That sounds fun! I haven't gone in quite a while." Ranboo agreed, getting up from their spot on the soft carpet.

"Wait! You can't swim because it'll hurt you, I think." Tubbo grabbed Ranboo's sweatshirt sleeve and tugged on it. "Boo can't get hurt!" Tommy and Ranboo looked at each other for a minute, and then they settled on just going to bed.

"We're all tired, I'm sure, so let's just go to bed before we do some stupid shit." Tommy grumbled. He's gonna be grumpy in the morning, Tubbo thought with a pout.

Tommy was, in fact, grumpy the next morning. "I don't want pancakes, I want waffles!" He whined, still sat on the same spot on the couch. "Tommy, please—" Tubbo tried to reason. "NO. I WILL GO BACK HOME IF NEEDED GOOD SIR, I'M GETTING MY WAFFLES." Tommy shouted, causing Micheal and Shroud to cover their ears. "Hey Toms, we can't make any waffles. Our waffle maker broke, sorry." Ranboo spoke, tired of the fussing. They buried their head in their folded arms on the counter, closing their tired eyes.

"Oh, okay. Sorry!" Tommy said, turning around to grin at the others.

"Dumbass." Ranboo chuckled under their breath.
