He's been taking sick days from work for the past week but no one questioned his absence thinking Todd was taking care of him. On Thursday afternoon he woke up wrapped in a blanket and heard the television in the living room. Getting up and quickly walking, he found Mayim on the couch. He felt his heart sinking in his chest. He was happy to see her but she wasn't the one he wanted to kiss but he did want to be held. He fell to his knees in front of her and cried into her lap.

Mayim didn't badger him with questions, she let him cry instead. After almost half an hour he lifted his head to face her and she gently wiped the tears from his face.

"He left" Jim said quietly. Her eyes widen in surprised of the words he said.

"I cheated" he bowed his head in shame and her mouth fell open.

She wrapped her arms around in head in a motherly way. "Oh, Jim"

He tighten his hold on her and cried a bit more.

After what seemed like another half hour she raised him to his feet and sat him on the couch beside her.

"Have you called him?" she asked.

He shook his head. She excused herself and walked towards the balcony, closing the door behind her and punched in Todd number on her phone. She knew she probably shouldn't intrude in their fight but Jim is a mess and she can't stand seeing him this way.

Todd picked up on the second ring.

A near to faint “Hello” came from the other line.

"Todd. Jim. Please." was all she could say.

He broke his twenty minute fast from crying at the word please. "Please. Please. Please. That's all I've been hearing lately" he sobbed. "Why not ...... why not "I'm sorry." "

"He hasn't said that." his voice began to raise. "Did you know that Mayim? Did he tell you that? He's explained how, who, when and why but he never once apologized. and God knows I stayed there long enough for him to say two words."

"I'm sorry" she replied. A tear forming in the corner in her eye. A light chuckle came from the other line. "I miss him" he admitted.

"Then come back Todd. Jim's a mess"

"And I'm not?"

She stopped and sighed. "He needs you" was the last thing she said before he gave the excuse of needed to go.

'"Jim?" she looked around the apartment looking for the tall thin man and found him laid in bed holding a pillow. He's asleep again. Must be a alternative to keep him from relapsing from his odd drinking and smoking habits.

Placing the blanket around him she grabbed his phone in his jacket texting the dog sitter to take care of his two babies an extra day.

She whispered sorry close to his right ear and left.

That night Jim dreamt of walking in darkness trying to find any form of light; the word sorry constantly repeating in the background. "Todd!" he yelled. "Todd!".

He woke up to the sweet aroma that was his boyfriend. A tear resting on his cheeks from the nightmare.

"I'm right here" Todd whispered.

Jim looked into his boyfriends loving gaze.  "I'm sorry."
