The Return

(Chris's POV)

It was a sunny day. No worries, no problems, nothing. Elena and Nicole were outside on the swing set and I was watching them from inside. I watch as Nicole pushes Elena and she smiles brightly when she squeals and giggles. As do I. I open the slide door and leaving it open because of the amazing weather. I walk over to Nicole and say to her that I can take over. I start to push Elena on the swing higher and higher until I stop and she slows down.
"DA! Hier!" I here her say. I quickly look over at Elena and run to the front looking at her beautiful green eyes.
"Baby say that again." I say to her, grasping onto the chains holding the swing up. She looks at me and opens her tiny mouth to speak, this time loud and clear so I can hear her.
"DA! Hier!" She says and points to the sky and swinging her legs.
Oh my god. She just called me Da. I look over at Nicole and she has her mouth covered in shock. She walks over to me and puts a hand on Elena's head. I lean in towards Elena and she leans toward me so our foreheads rest against eachothers. I whisper asking her the same question.
"Repeat it again baby girl." And she does so.
She called me Da.

We were out there for another 2 hours or so. I was sitting on the ground while Nicole was making a flower crown for Elena, who was ripping up the grass and finding it quite fascinating. A small smile comes upon when my phone beeps. Who would text me? It's usually through the pack link if so. I take out my phone to see "UNKNOWN NUMBER" and furrow my brows together. I click in my password and open up I Message. I click onto the contact and read the message-
"Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
You've made quite mess,
Haven't you?
You may know who I am,
In that little head of yours, but let me tell you,
I'm keeping scores,
We'll start out fairly, one point for each,
Until I take your little girl,
And rip her with teeth,
Oh dear Chris,
I can imagine your face,
I've been watching you for a while now, what a nice family you have,
To bad you won't be able to get to know your child.... Before she's dead.
Oh, I hope you haven't forgotten but.... The names Drake."-
As I read over the message I get angry. My wolf is in half control and I can't let him take full control, for Elena's safety. I breath in and out through my nostrils. Nicole sees me and immediately walks over to me with Elena.
"No.... Keep her away from me Nicole, I don't trust my wolf right now- Ah, God. Ah!" I start to feel a pain inside my body that seems to be spreading more and more by the second.
"Chris. Trust me.... Let her come near you." I shake my head no but that doesn't stop her. She sets Elena in front of me and Elena reaches up for my face. I pull back slightly and she whines. I lean down and close my eyes and I feel her small, soft chubby hands on my cheeks.
"Da?" I hear her soft sweet voice in my ears. I nod my head and I know she understands. I sit there and finally my wolf calms down.
"Baby, you okay? What was it?" I hear Nicole say. I press my hands to her cheeks and whisper.
"He's back Nicole. He wants her, he wants revenge, he wants to kill her! I- I'm not gonna let anything happen to you or Elena. I promise you, we'll go hide somewhere. Somewhere safe and-" I ramble on when she cuts me off.
"Chris! Calm down okay? Sh... Shh... It's okay. It's alright.." She talks to me as if I'm a new born infant and I don't care. All I care about is having her here with me. I kiss her lips, lingering there for a moment, and then bend down to pick up Elena.
"I will protect you. That's a vow."

(Night Time)

I shoot up from my bed when I hear Elena crying. Loudly. I look over to see Nicole siting up. She heard it too.
"Chris-"
"I don't know." I get up and run down the hall and slam open the door to see him. Holding my child in his arms, with a bottle in her mouth. Like he's her father, and not me. I open mouth to yell at him after I sent a pack link.
"Ah ah ah... We wouldn't want to wake the baby, now would we Chris."
The one person I never thought would come back.
"Drake."
"Hello Brother."
