Unveiling Shadows (A TWF AU)

Chris and Mel

Mel, an intern for Christopher Miller, and overall an employee for BSI, was looking at his ID. He furiously scribbled over his real name, and added Mel, just because he hated his name that much. As Mel was sorting files in the alleyways of the large file room at the BSI building, Christopher tapped his shoulder lightly.
"Hey," he said to Mel. "You wanna grab some coffee? My treat."
"Yeah, sure!" Mel exclaimed. "That would be great." Mel's boss was quite kind to his employees, as this was the first time he would talk to each other. He would be quite careful not to screw this conversation up, like many times before. No-one really cared about Mel, after all..

As Mel and Christopher walk to the coffee shop, Mel wondered something. There have been many disappearances involving a company named Bunny Smiles.. They seem to be tangled in within BSI, according to the files that Mel looked through. Could Bunny Smiles, or even worse, BSI, be at hand for these disappearances..? Mel shook the thought out of his head. No need for silly conspiracy theories.

As they sat down and ordered their coffee, Christopher looked out the window, and so did Mel.
"Lovely day out today," Chris smiled. "It's nice getting out of the workplace during lunch."
"I, um, I never get out of that dusty file room," Mel stuttered. "I don't know why, heh." He gave a nervous smile, hoping Chris didn't see through it.
"Hey, um, you're an engineer, right?" Chris questioned. "Why don't you work as one in the building?"
"They never had use for me," Mel explained. "Too shaky hands, yknow?"
"It's hard working for such a.. notorious company." Chris muttered.
Chris and Mel stared out the window, looking around, but not at each other. Mel would warm up to Chris, and grow toward him. For now though, Mel would only look out the window with him.
