Chapter 2

I arrived at my house and went inside after I parked my car. My house isn't that big, but luxurious looking.

I went to the living room and let gravity took over me and landed safely on a comfy sofa. What an exhausting day.

"Mommy!", a cheerful child went up to me and hugged me as I hugged back. "How was work mom?", another voice was heard inside the room. "It was ok.", I answered as I stroked my child's back comforting him. I looked at my middle child named Lillia as she looked like she wants something.

"What is it?", I broke the silence between us. "We found something.", she said as she sat beside me. "You found my earrings?", I asked her hoping they found my earrings I lost 2 weeks ago. "Well no, but as we were cleaning the garage, we found something.", she said as she smiled at me. "Tell me what did yo-", I was cut off by my eldest child Elliot, "Who's Al?"

As my son mentioned that name, I felt like I was falling in the rabbit hole of memories.

I can't even explain what I'm feeling right now. Oh God what should I tell my children?

"An old friend of mine, why?", I tried my best to stay calm as I cleared my throat and asked once again, "And why are you questioning me that?", Elliot took out a vintage looking camera. "We found this camera in one of the boxes in the attic.", "And what were you doing in the attic?". Elliot tried to say something but closed his mouth as he sighed. "We were um... we were looking for... the...".

Lillia tried to find a good reason why they were at the attic looking at their mom's old stuffs. (This is now author's perspective lol) Like yeah she can just tell that they were looking for their mom's earrings but It would be a dumb move since she rarely goes to the attic. But, why were they in the attic at the first place anyway?

Silence was the only sound that can be heard throughout the living room, Ellianna's still waiting for her questioned to be answered by her children.

"Mom, I know you told us not to look at your stuffs without your permission but...", Elliot finally broke the silent atmosphere, "We were just looking for some of your old things you had when you were young and decided to own them... Since you no longer use them.", Lillia supported his brother.

Ellianna was upset that they disobeyed what she warned them, but she can't just get mad at their curiosity... well yeah sure she has to be mad for that but there's just something in her that seems to be ok with it.

"It's ok... I do plan on throwing them away, but next time, ask for my permission first ok?", she said with a calm voice as the two siblings nodded and smiled at her.

She was about to say something but Elliot spoke first, "So who's Al?", she totally forgot about that question.
