Maela's Point of view
Was I supposed to get one myself? I completely forgot about this all being a masquerade and considering that Harry provided 90 percent of my outfit the mask never came back to mind. My cheeks are glowing red and I stop myself from heading anywhere closer, being about a building away and relishing in fear of making an appearance. I could always back out now right?
I couldn't possibly walk in there without a mask.. I mean, I.. that's something everyone gets to hide behind, that's something that I need most of all. I cross my arms over my chest and hum in displeasure, my nails furiously picking at each other in anticipation.
If nothing else could get worse some one suddenly approaches me, a man in a suit with an earpiece in his ear. He looks like a security guard, his body big and intimidating, yet surprisingly approachable.
He speaks to me first, my eyes widening in surprise.
"Ms. Sharp?" He says in a deep voice, my ears catching his low tone. Okay.. so.. he obviously knows me somehow. Being polite, I don't ignore him, but being cautious I stammer.
"Erm, yes," I stammer, biting down onto my bottom lip.
"Please, follow me," he gestures for me to head in the direction of the building and I frown.
"I don't know you," is all I manage to say and he manages a warm smile, stepping back towards me.
"Mr. Styles has ordered me to escort you in," he says, and I am in awe of his smile. The intimidation fades to nothing and I slowly follow him, attempting to keep to myself so that no one makes eye contact with me.
Thinking that we are headed to the entrance of the hall I begin to get nervous, but the man turns to the back, taking me to the darker entrance which easily has me questioning my trust in him.
But for whatever reason I push away his directions and zip my lips, letting him lead the way. The man in front of me talks into his radio but I don't catch it as it is clipped and fast.
We enter through a black door that says back entrance and I get pushed in, the scenery immediately changing as the place is lit up, a hallway that encases several different rooms with different purposes. But all of that seems to fade when I see the farthest door swinging open, Mr. CEO strolling in, looking dashing in his all black suit that practically calls out for my attention. My entirety is swallowed whole by this man, and he stares at me intensely as he approaches me, waving off the security guard that helped me here. He nods curtly at Harry, and I look at him, thanking him silently. He's gone within a moment.
I look back at Harry who looks bothered yet awestruck. I can't help but wonder if my appearance has to do with dancing eyes, or if something else has gotten to him before I have.
I expect him to be drooling with lustful words for me, leaving with me before the party can even really begin when instead he takes another approach.
"You're late," he snaps, but it doesn't reach his eyes. He suddenly takes my arm and pulls me closer to him, the atmosphere almost immediately growing thick and hot. I gulp under his dark eyes. There's that lust.
"Sorry I-"
"Really late," he cuts me off and I purse my lips together slightly- but not completely annoyed. I honestly didn't have an excuse for this one, so it's okay he cut me off. For a moment he seems to be just satisfied holding me this way, his hands somehow finding their way to my waist and lightly dragging his thumb over a crinkle in my dress. He shouldn't be touching you this way, my subconscious murmurs under her breath, but she too is drowning in the need for this man. I let out a shaky sigh for the both of us.
