Maela's Point of view
No words can describe the way I feel as I stare at the most unbelievable sight in front of me. The horrific view of a screen, taking my heart and smashing it into the ground for my world to completely fall apart.
To think that I was missing something and to be correct is one thing. But it is a totally different story to find out that the two people that want me gone so badly is connected in a way that could ruin me for the rest of my life.
My jaw is so far down that I think it may just fall off. This can't be happening. I'm seeing stars, I'm seeing spots. I nearly lose my footing until I fall and right into the arms that I don't know if I ever wanted to feel again.
I shoot away from Harry, taking the phone off the counter and shoving it in his face.
"What the fuck is this?" I croak, my throat pulsing in pain from the vomit fest I had just engaged in. I swallow the bile down, grimacing in the stinging feeling before shaking my head. Harry's face contorts in shock, his face pale and at loss of any color.
"Maela- I didn't mean for you to find out this way," he whispers and I resist the urge to scream in his face, my fist raising to my mouth as I bite down harshly onto my knuckle. Pain surges through the area I've bitten, but my head is too occupied to pay mind to it.
"I can't believe this is happening right now," I gape, my eyes full of tears and my jaw tight with the band that is wrapped around my heart- squeezing the life out of me.
I feel betrayed, beyond belief, and I couldn't be more frustrated than ever at this news I'm receiving.
I'm about to spill out my thoughts, but Arendia's footsteps draw my attention, my hands hastily wiping away the tears, placing the phone onto the counter.
"Hey, dessert is ready.. are you alright Maela?" Arendia asks, looking past my flushed face.
Once again Harry is silent, and I nod my head.
"Fine, just threw up a bit," I murmur, she nods.
"Well come on then," she walks back to the dining room, Harry staring at me.
"I'll finish this dinner, but after that don't you dare tell me you love me you married prick."
Storming past Harry I make my way into the dining room once again and make do with my seat across from Arendia. Harry tried to pull me back before heading in but I nearly slapped him across the face that he flinched back, giving me the chance to dart.
No words could the describe the aching feeling in my heart that has drowned my soul into acid. My insides are still screaming with shock, and I have no way to wrap my head around this without getting the answer that I want.
"So you work for Hoss?" Arendia breaks the silence, my head not being to able to latch onto her words and actually care. But when I glance at Harry I shove a fork full of dessert into my mouth and gulp.
"Yes, I'm one of his closest assistants on the board and I edit and plan most of his work," I mutter, giving her a fake smile that she glares at.
"Nice to know that you actually try to make money and that you don't live off of other rich- dare I say married men," she mutters, my eyes nearly rolling out and tumbling onto the ground.
"Sorry, what was that?" I question and she smirks.
"Nice to know you're not really a prostitute, particularly around my husband," she breathes cooly and I nearly flip the table as my hands grip my fork and napkin.
Surprisingly however, Harry speaks up.
"Shut the hell up Arendia," Harry counters and she rolls her eyes.
