Sarah woke up, and made herself breakfast. Right before she sat down, Chase comes over and pulls out the chair for her to sit in. He smiles, and Sarah is confused. Why was he so nice?

He says, “Hey, Sarah, I’m sorry for what Charli did.” Sarah replies, “Oh it’s fine-” as Chase buts in, she looks at his face.
“What do you mean by that, Sarah? It’s awfully rude of me to interrupt you, but I don’t understand that. Like, I know that ‘forgiveness’ is a thing, but the way they died? I believe that was unforgivable.” Sarah was shocked, he was so nice, and that was almost unsettling.. Why was he acting like this? Sarah realized she needed to get out of this train of thought, and reply to his question. “I- I think that you’re right. I guess that saying that it's okay is just a default and something that I say as a habit. It wasn’t okay.” Chase smiled, and Sarah realized how attractive he was. Now that she eliminated Charli, Chase was left for her.

She caught herself, and reminded herself about John, and how much she loved him. She would be a faithful wife, and she wouldn’t ever think of Chase like that ever again. Their eyes met, and for a brief moment, she forgot about her pain with John, and she forgot about how much she loved him. He placed his hand on her arm, and there were butterflies in her stomach. She didn’t remember John. Chase said that he wanted to talk, and Sarah forgot about John. They sat down in her room, and she forgot about John.

Chase began to talk about how ever since she moved in, he thought that she was cute, but with Charli there, he couldn’t talk to her. “But now, Charli’s gone. John is gone. It’s just us. Please give me a chance.” In that instant, Sarah wanted to forget about John. As Chase put his hand in hers, she felt weak. She forgot about John. He pulled her in for a kiss, and for a moment, she completely forgot about her marriage and her love, and how much she loved John.

She forgot about John. She forgot about John. Chase smiled at her as she pulled away, and then he asked if he could take her out to a comedy club late that night. She agreed, because she forgot about John. Chase left, and Sarah slumped over onto her bed. She remembered John. She looked over at the picture of John that she keeps on her bedside table, and flipped it face down. She forgot about John. She got up, and then went to get ready for her date. What should she wear? As she went through her closet, she found the outfit that she wanted to wear. She did her hair and makeup, and got dressed. Just as she was finishing up, she heard a noise, and she turned around. She saw the picture of John face up, looking at her. She got up, and turned it back down. Just as she turned to leave, it was face up again. John was looking at her, and she knew what she was doing was wrong. But this is what she wanted. She picked John’s picture up, and she opened her sock drawer. She buried it under all of her socks, and slammed it shut.sa

She didn’t want John to know what she was doing. She felt guilty. Her thoughts filled her head. Chase walked in, and he smiled. He said, “You look good, I’m glad you agreed to this.” She forgot about John. She said, “Y-yeah. . . Thanks, Chase.” She felt butterflies in her stomach and her knees felt weak. As he brought her into an embrace, she melted into his arms.

Chase held her in his arms, and he broke the silence by mentioning that they should go. Sarah agreed, and they got into the car and pulled out of the driveway. It was late and dark. Most of the people in LA had gone home and the streets were almost empty except for a few pedestrians and a few cars every now and again. In the car, the only thing that you could hear was the whirring of the engine and the other’s breath. Sarah, with the silence in the car, her thoughts consumed her. She thought about all of the things she had done. She had forgotten John. She forgot about John. It was replaying over and over again in her head. Almost to make her stop doing what she was doing. She forgot about John. But it was too late. She already accepted, and she couldn’t turn back. Her head was pounding. “You forgot about John, You forgot about John, You forgot about John. How could you forget the feelings you felt? You forgot about John. You’re married. Stop, get out of the car. You forgot John.” These feelings showed on her face, and soon, Chase asked Sarah what was wrong. Sarah didn’t want to tell him what was wrong. She said, “There’s a lot on my mind right now, I’ve been through a lot the past few days.” Chase said that he understood, and he said that they could go to the park to talk about it. Sarah accepted, and they changed their route to the local park, instead of the comedy club they planned to go to.
