{Before we start, YES I AM WELL AWARE THAT THIS IS NOT THE OR/AS THEME, but both games are Gen 6, so what the heck. Sue me. All characters except for the ones I add in(Zoey, Blaine, Leo, Kallie, Meg, and Alex) are owned by Pokemon, which is owned by Game Freak, which is owned by Nintendo. Also, the player(Maya) was living with her sister before moving to Hoenn.

The night before we moved to Hoenn,  2 hours before I boarded the moving truck, my friends decided to throw me an impromptu goodbye party. As I sat on my porch outside, my friend Zoey burst into tears. "I'm gonna miss you so much!" she sobbed, hugging me. Blaine sighed. "You're so dramatic, Zoey. Calm down for five seconds."  Zoey sniffled. "How are we gonna keep in contact?" I smile. "Well, you could always write a letter." Kallie, the oldest member of my friend group gasped in mock horror. "And risk ruining her perfect nails? She'd never!" We all laugh. My friend Meg spoke up. "Besides, we all have Holo Casters, so we can also communicate using those," she said. I nod. Just then, Leo spoke up. "I hate to ruin the moment, guys, but we've been out here for a whole hour. We've only got an hour left to hang out." I sigh sadly. "Arceus, I'm gonna miss you guys. You've been the best friends ever." Alex, the last member of our group smiles. "Keep in touch, okay, Maya-bear?" he says teasingly. "Don't EVER call me that in public again, Alex," I threaten him jokingly. Just then, my older sister comes out. "Okay, time to go pack. Say goodbye to your friends," she says gently. I hug my friends goodbye and watch as they walk back to their respective apartments. I pack all of my things in the hour limit that I have, then take one last look around my empty room. "Goodbye, Johto," I whisper sadly.

"Hi! Sorry to keep you waiting!" read the text on my old GameBoy Advance. I sigh, clicking the A button. I'd been stuck in a dingy moving van for the past 12 hours, and I was so over it. "Welcome to the world of Pokemon! My name is Birch, but everyone calls me the Pokemon Professor." I skip the rest of the dialogue, bored. "What about you?" the 8-bit form of Hoenn's resident professor asks. "Are you a boy, or are you a girl?" I groan, annoyed. "Neither. I'm bored." I retort, knowing all too well that the game couldn't actually hear me. I click the girl option. "Will you give me your name, too?" I glare at the game, before typing in M-a-y-a. "So you're Maya?" I mutter "Obviously," under my breath. "Ah... I see!" I nod. "Finally, we're getting somewhere!" I say. I skip the rest of the dialogue, bored, before seeing the door open. I calmly put my GBA away and jump out of the van.  My mom rushes over to me, excited. "Maya! You're here at last!" she exclaims. "Wasn't it tough riding in the back of that moving truck all the way?" she asks, concerned. I nod. "My bruises have bruises," I complain. Mom pays me no mind. "Well, this is Littleroot Town! What do you think! This is going to be your new home! It has a quaint feel, but it looks like it should be a nice place to live, don't you think?" I sigh. "It's...okay," I grumble. I was still tired. "And you get your own room this time, Maya!" Yep, that's right. My own room. Not some girly bedroom I had to share with my older sister. Things were looking up. "Come on. You have to see the inside!" she cheers, pushing me indoors. Mom grins, seeing the impressed look on my face. "See, Maya? isn't it nice in here, too? The moving company's Pokemon even help with the unpacking and cleaning! They really make moving a cinch!" she says. Just then, a Machamp comes over. "Graah, grah, grah!" it cries. Mom smiles. "Thanks for all the hard work! We really appreciate it!" she says. The moving Pokemon leave. Mom turns to me. "You should go and see your new room upstairs, Maya!" she says enthusiastically. "Dad even brought a new clock for it to help celebrate the big move. You'll need to set the time, though," she says to me. I head upstairs and set the time on my clock. Just then, Mom comes up. "How do you like your new room, Maya?" "It's nice," I reply. Mom looks happily around. "Good! Everything's put away neatly. They finished everything downstairs, too. It really is so nice having Pokemon around to help us!" she says. Then she looks concerned. "Oh, but you should make sure that everything's all there on your desk!" she says before heading downstairs. I check, and everything's there, so I head downstairs. Mom looks up, excited. "Oh! Maya! Maya!!! Quick! Come quickly!" she says. I rush over, intrigued. "It's the Petalburg Gym! Maybe Dad will be on TV!" We turn on the TV, but the interview has just ended. Mom sighs. "Oh... It's already ended. Looks like your dad was on, but we missed his part. What a shame." Then her face brightens. "But that reminds me... One of Dad's friends lives in this town. Professor Birch is his name. He lives right next door, so you should go over and introduce yourself." she says, leaving no room for arguments.

Author's Note: Whoo boy, this took a long time to write! And it's gonna take even longer to finish if I include the postgame... God, why did I agree to do this?
