Grass always amazed Mae. She and her little sister Kimmie would always lie in the grass on a nice warm spring day and share a baguette. If only the grass grew today. But the acid from the toxic bombs they drop on san francisco killed all the grass. Kimmie used to frolic down the street to grab a ice cream cone at Mr.Swirly's, back when that wasn't a makeshift hospital for the wounded soldiers trying to defend our region. Thats where Kimmie went before she was transferred to a child care unit along with Mrs.Johnson's toddler Mary. I told them that she would be so much safer with me considering I have been taking care of her since ma and pa died, by the plague. It was two years ago when the plague outbreak started and Mrs.Johnson's husband got sick,Ma was a doctor so thats how she got infected, she gave it to Pa and Kimmie and I had to leave and live with the Consord's for a week. We we were brought to their death beds the day they died Ma's last word were "I love you, take care of Kimmie don't let my baby t..." she died before she could finish the sentence Pa's last words were "I love you both so much" He died with a smile on his face. But the past is in the past and im determined to get Kimmie back.
