Fern soon recovered from the sickness and it was a late December morning snow covered the tips of the pine trees and children played happily in the little amount of snow Thranduil and Fern were still fast asleep after the acts of last night lets just say things got a bite spicy but back on track Thranduil woke up and pulled back the blankets to see blood all over Fern's side he frantically shook her shoulder
Thranduil: " Fern my love you are bleeding did you get hurt did I hurt you my love"
Fern awoke from her slumber startled by a worried Thranduil looking down on her
Fern sleepily said: " What what do you mean blood I am not"
she pulled back the sheet to reveal blood
Fern: " Oh shit shit shit my love I am so sorry Let me change and I will explain "
Fern got up out of bed and ran to the bathroom taking off the night gown she wore and wrapping a robe around herself before filling the bath and soaking her night gown and bed sheets before cleaning herself up and changing into some black leather leggings and a long tunic that cover her butt before leaving the bathroom and snuggling down with Thranduil again to explain everything
Thranduil: " So you have to bleed once a month unless"
Fern: " Umm yes "
Thranduil: " But that is unfair you bleed and get cramp and I don't have to go through anything"
Fern: " You are the first man I have ever met to say that but I shall have to suffer I have lived this many years and will live with it some may more"
Time skip
Fern was in her study working on some paperwork when she felt a horrible cramping sensation she groaned and walked out of her study to be greeted by Dale one of Thranduil many advisors
Dale: " And where might you be going "
Fern: " Dale I am not in the mood today please leave I am going to find Thranduil"
Dale: " My Queen you have work you can't afford to take a day off and the king wishes not to be disturbed"
Fern: " Dale please I need this break I will finish the work tomorrow alright goodbye"
Fern walked off to find Thranduil she felt sick to her stomach as she walked into the throne room and up the steps to her and Thranduil's throne
Fern: " Thranduil"
He didn't respond
Fern: "Thranduil"
He yet again didn't respond
Fern: " Thranduil"
Thranduil didn't look up from what he was reading but yelled
Thranduil: " WHAT DO YOU NEED CAN'T YOU SEE I AM BUSY GET OUT LEAVE ME UNTILL I SAY"
Fern look shocked and scared of Thranduil and quickly ran down the step and out into the hall
Dale: " I told you so he will never love you"
Fern ignored him and ran to her and Thranduil's room locking the door knowing only two people had the key herself and Thranduil so if he ever decided to find her he would know
A few hours later
Thranduil had finished work ad was waiting in the dinning room for Fern to join but Fern was curled up on their bed crying out of pain Thranduil eventually asked one of the maids where Fern was
Maid: " Sir I believe advisor dale said some hurtful things and she went to your chambers"
Thranduil shot up from his chair and ran to his and Fern's room pounding on the door
Thranduil: " Fern my darling open the door please I am sorry for yelling I had no right to yell at you my beautiful perfect snowflake "
All Thranduil could hear was the small timid weeping coming from Thranduil fumbled around in his pockets for their room key eventually finding it and unlocking the door finding Fern curled up on the bed with a pool of blood on the sheets and blankets ( did I forget to mention elementals have unusual heavy periods) Thranduil ran to her she was crying her eyes red and puffy from her tears a wave if guilt hit Thranduil he brushed her hair out of her face before planting a soft gentle kiss in her lips but she pushed him away
Fern: " Go away you don't love me dale was right everyone is right"
Thranduil looked shocked
Thranduil: " But my snowflake I do love you with all my heart let me help you clean up go have a bath I will clean the sheets"
Fern: " Thank you"
And walked into bathroom Thranduil felt ever so guilty he was the reason his wife was crying half an hour later she left the bathroom and walked into the bedroom to a clean bed and Thranduil lying in it she climbed in and nuzzled her head in Thranduil's chest he apologised for yelling and well things got a little heated that night again
