A chaos of snacks, drinks, lights, and boxes is filling up the living room of Lando and Max' house, a few things even thrown across the garden because the guys have no idea what they're doing, "What do you reckon? Like this?" Lando asks Max, holding up a strip of led lights while looking at his friend. "No that looks stupid. I feel like it's not it mate, but I don't know how it would be it, you know?" Max mumbles, dragging his hand over his face when Lando lets out a confused sound. "Let's focus on the drinks and food, Emmie needs to look at those lights. She's good at that stuff" Max sighs eventually, leaving Lando alone with his light strip while he looks at Max with a pout. "We can definitely do this, if you would just be serious for once" he yells after him, groaning when Max lifts his middle finger in the air. "Fucking idiot" Lando mumbles, leaving the lights for what they are before walking towards the kitchen.
"Emmie, can you do the lights" Max asks the minute he hears her coming in from the backyard. "Hey Emilia, so good to see you again! I hope you're doing well. We'd be delighted if you could take a look at the lights since I'm incapable of doing anything myself!" Emilia says, mocking Max while she walks towards the hallway to hang her coat. A chuckle leaves Lando's lips when Max rolls his eyes, and he blushes when Max looks at him with a frown. "What are you chuckling about mate" he says, shaking his head at Lando's sheepish face while rummaging through the cupboard. "What do you want with those lights then?" Emilia asks, her eyes widening slightly when Lando walks towards her. "I-I thought this would be cool" he says, clearing his throat before showing her his idea. "Max didn't like this though" he continues, blushing when Emilia steps next to him to look at the lights.
He looks at her intently, noticing the sparkly eyeshadow she put on and the gloss that makes her lips look even more kissable. He doesn't realise she's talking until she softly says "Lando?" He looks at her with wide eyes, stuttering that he was lost in thought for a second. She smiles a little confused at him, shrugging her shoulders before repeating what she said. They hang the lights up together, which makes Emilia look at Max with raised eyebrows because Lando is, next to helping her without her asking him to, also chatting to her. Max just shrugs, turning towards the bowls with snacks again before placing them around the room. "What do you think Maxie?" Emilia asks when she and Lando put all the light strips up, the room bathing in various colours without being too out there. "Yeah, this looks neat. Killed it as always Em, I knew you could help us out" Max tells her, wrapping his arm around her before pressing a kiss on her hair.
He suppresses a laugh when he sees Lando shooting daggers at him, letting go of Emilia who looks around the room while humming. "Now all we need is friends. I don't think you guys have any, right?" she asks, laughing out loud when Max groans annoyed. "Why are you here?" he asks, rolling his eyes when she answers that he begged her to come. "I, for a fact, did not. But whatever, go look for a fun playlist or something" he tells her, walking towards the bathroom to fix his hair quickly. Emilia walks towards the sound system, scrolling through the various playlists on Spotify. She lets out a little gasp when Lando suddenly stands next to her, his cologne filling her nostrils. He's wearing a different scent today, and this one smells even better than the last one. A blush covers her cheeks when he leans over her shoulder a little so he can see the screen as well. "What about this one?" he asks, his breath tickling her neck slightly. "S-sure, I'll put that one on" she stutters, avoiding his eyes when he hums while looking at her.
The living room is filled with people after a few more hours, the music pumping through the sound systems while everyone is either chatting, drinking, snacking, or dancing. Emilia is happily mingling around, laughing at a stupid joke Max tells her when she suddenly feels a hand on her lower back. She's about to turn around to ask who's touching her when she hears a familiar voice ask if she wants something to drink. "Eh, no I was just about to ask Max if-" she starts, looking around confused when she can't see her friend anymore. "Oh" she mumbles, turning her body a little to look at Lando's sparkling eyes. His hand is resting on her waist now, and she can't help but blush while feeling incredibly confused. Lando leans closer to her ear, his breath fanning her neck before he asks, "so, want to get a drink with me now that Max is gone?"
