Chapter 10

The warm sunlight warms Lando's face up, and he blinks a few times before moving his head sideways. The sight that greets him makes his lips curl into a smile, a warm feeling flowing through his chest when he sees Emilia's sleeping face next to him. The sunny weather has given her freckles, and her long lashes rest on her cheeks while her soft breaths are audible in the otherwise silent room. He shuffles around a little, softly putting her head against his chest while raking his fingers through her hair. She hums, snuggling against him tighter before continuing to sleep. He leans his cheek against her hair, breathing in her scent before falling into a slumber again.

The sounds in the house wake him up the second time, the voices of his friends filling the hallways while their feet patter through the vacation house. Emilia is still sleeping against his chest soundly, and he chuckles when he hears her snore softly. "Why are you so precious?" he mumbles, pressing a kiss on her forehead before watching her eyelashes flutter while she wakes up. "Good morning my love" he says softly, smiling when she looks at him with a smile on her lips. "Hey you, have you been up for long?" she asks, humming when Lando tells her that he has been awake for a few minutes. She wiggles around a little, humming when Lando wraps both his arms around her while she puts her leg over his hip. "I wouldn't mind waking up to you like this for the rest of our stay" she whispers. "I would have been offended if you were planning on sleeping alone for the rest of our stay" he replies, smiling when her giggles fill the bedroom.

Fog fills the bathroom when Lando steps into the shower cabin, chuckling when Emilia lets out a shriek. "Jesus, can you announce yourself next time!?" she says, rolling her eyes when Lando says that he knocked. "Don't be mad at me baby, I just wanted to wash your hair for you" he tells her, wrapping his arms around her naked body before pressing a kiss on her lips. "Are you going to let me?" he asks, smiling when Emilia nods with a hum. He turns her around in his embrace, grabbing the shampoo before filling his palm with it. He massages it into her hair, smiling to himself when he feels her melt under his touch. He takes the shower head, carefully rinsing the shampoo out before turning her around again so she's facing him. "Now I know why you hair always smells so nice" he says, nodding happily when Emilia asks if he wants her to wash his hair with her shampoo.

After getting dressed Emilia takes a seat on the floor in front of the mirror, applying some light makeup to her face while Lando lounges on the bed while he scrolls through his social media. "Max has literally texted one thing only" he says with a laugh, sitting down next to her to show her his screen. "You're only allowed downstairs if you finally had the balls to ask her. I will not stand for your weak personality if she's upset with you when you didn't. We're eating pancakes btw" Emilia reads, shaking her head with a giggle at her best friends words. "I'm glad I got rid of my weak personality" Lando says, leaning his head against her shoulder while she applies some lip balm. "Me too. Let's go downstairs and eat those pancakes now" she says, pecking his lips before the two of them make their way to the kitchen.

They're greeted by the stares of their friends, knowing grins on their faces while they look at Lando and Emilia. "What?" she asks, a blush forming on her cheeks when Tom says that it's very suspicious of them to walk downstairs together while no one had seen them since yesterday evening. "Well," says Lando, looking at Emilia before intertwining their fingers, "it's not that suspicious when she's my girlfriend now." Oliver claps, sighing a "finally" before everyone else does the same. "Took you long enough mate" Max says, wiggling his eyebrows at Emilia when she looks at him with a "shut the fuck up" look. "Yeah, yeah, whatever. I did it, which is what matters. Are there any pancakes left for us or did you eat everything yourself?" Lando asks Max, laughing when Max gives him the finger. "We just finished making them so you can just join. Did you sleep well Emmie?" Max asks, focussing his attention on her when she takes a seat opposite to him.

Breakfast quickly becomes a chatter of various voices, everyone chatting about their night and thinking about things to do for the day. "I feel like it will be nice to have a beach day today" Emilia proposes, chuckling when Max nods excitedly with his mouth full. "We should do that, maybe we can play some games in the ocean as well" Lando says, making eye contact with Max before they wiggle their brows at the same time. "What was that?" Tom asks, rolling his eyes when Max answers that it was just an inside thing. "You wouldn't understand it mate, it's for the elite only" Lando says, chuckling when Tom gives him the finger before he focusses on his breakfast again. Lando looks to his right side, smiling when he sees how Emilia puts her utensils down carefully before she leans back against the chair while she's in a discussion about which bikini to wear with his brother's girlfriend. He places his hand on her thigh, softly squeezing it before she looks at him with a bright smile.

They pack their bags with beach towels, sunscreen, a few books, and some games before they all make their way towards the beach. After setting everything down and opening up a few beach umbrellas the boys all run towards the water, trying to push each other in first while their laughter fills the air. Emilia sits down on the beach towel, watching Lando and Max wrestle in the water with a smile on her face before she grabs the book she has been reading for the last few days. The sunshine warms her up, resulting in her falling asleep after half an hour with the sounds of the waves as guidance. "Baby, wake up" she hears someone say after a while, her eyes blinking in confusion until she remembers where she is. "Oh, I fell asleep" she mumbles, looking into Lando's bright eyes when he laughs. "Yeah you did, sleepy head. Will you join me in the water now?" he asks, his smile widening when she nods.

The waves crash against Emilia while she makes her way into the water, a scream leaving her lips when Lando grabs her legs from underwater before he comes up for air while laughing. "Why did you do that!" she yells, pushing him away from her before trying to swim away from him. Her squeals and his laughter fill the air while he follows her, grabbing onto her waist before pressing her against his firm body. He looks down on her while they catch their breaths, her twinkling eyes meeting his before she wraps her arms around his neck to bring his face towards her. She rakes her fingers through his wet curls while deepening the kiss, giggling when he pulls her closer when she tries to pull away from him. "I need air" she gasps, laughing when Lando mumbles that air isn't that necessary. "Day one of being my boyfriend and you already want to get rid of me?" she asks, fake hurt in her voice while she looks into his eyes.

"Trust me, I don't ever want to get rid of you darling."
