Chapter 45
"I miss you so much." Back at the TAPOPS station, Boboiboy was talking to Lia through a holographic video call. It has been over a week since she left and they are badly missing each other.
Lia pouted, "Awww, B. I miss you too. I'll be back in a few days. I feel that I got to ease my mind already." Lia assured him with a small smile.
"That's great. I'm proud of you. You know that I'm always here, babe." Lia chuckled at what he said, "I know. Thank you so much, babe." Then, she remembered something. "Uhm, how's it back there? Do you guys have any lead on Orangpina?"
Boboiboy shook his head, "As of now, no. We also asked the help of captain Kaizo to investigate with us. He got a bit sad when he found out about what happened." Lia sighed, "Well, I got sad too... Anyways, do send me updates. I want to keep updated."
"We will, but hey... Rest, okay? That's the reason why you're back there on Earth. You shouldn't stress out too much right now. I don't want you to feel drained." Boboiboy reminded firmly with a mix of worry.
Lia leaned against the headboard of the bed, "I know, I know... I just... can't help it. I can't stop thinking about what happened."
Boboiboy nodded, understanding her. "Does aunty know already?" Lia heaved a sigh; she hasn't told her about Iris yet because she couldn't find a perfect timing. "No... Not yet... I just... don't know how. I don't know how to explain it to her that her presumed dead daughter is alive but now a villain."
"It's going to be a lot for her to understand which is why should really break it to her one by one. You got this, love. We'll figure things out, okay?" Boboiboy assured with a soft voice.
Lia nodded slowly, giving a small smile. "Yeah, thank you, love."
"I love you," Boboiboy told her, which made her chuckle. "I love you too." The call lasted for about an hour until Boboiboy had to go since they had to work at the station. They both bid their goodbye then the call ended.
Lia started to recall how Andres answered her questions about Iris. She wasn't able to mention Andres to Boboiboy because for sure, he will go out of the way to head back to Earth once he finds out about it. Besides, she wanted to solve this on her own. She knew he was the last person Iris was with before she disappeared which is why she will do what it takes to get the answers.
She stood up and walked out of the room for her to head downstairs, only to be met by Tony and Ron, both watching basketball on the television. "Oh wow," She remarked with a chuckle. "I've never seen the two of you like that."
Tony looked at Lia with an annoyed look, "Heh, this is one thing we can agree on. Otherwise, he's a jerk." Ron scoffed at Tony's reply, "Whatever." He took a bite on his sandwich as his eyes are glued to the television screen.
Lia giggled, "Okay then... Uhm, by any chance, have you seen dad?" Tony shrugged, "I don't know. Wala naman ako pakialam sa tatay mo." (I don't even have care for your father)
Ron nudged Tony after hearing his remark, he gave him a look. Lia was confused by how he answered it, "Uhm... What do you mean? You should care for him, silly. And why do you say he's my dad? He's ours."
"I was joking," Tony defended with undiluted fear because of his sudden outburst. He saw his sister tilting her head, the confusion was obvious. "But I don't know where he is. And for mom, because I know you'll ask too- she's out with a lunch date with her friend."
Lia nodded, "Okay, thank you... Uhm, I'll head to Tok Aba's shop, do guys you want anything?"
"No thanks!" Her two brothers replied in unison, much to her surprise. "Okay... Wow, talk about unison." Lia left the house and headed straight to Tok Aba's shop. Once she arrived, she saw that there were a few customers; one of them were the three- Papa Zola, Pipi Zola, and Mama Zila.
