Chapter 2- Heartbreak

Nezuko had finished taking a shower when she received a text by her boyfriend. She saw his name and smiled.

Hi, Nezuko. How are you today? Sure is rainy today! Stay cozy! Kisses!

I'm doing great, Rui! Thanks for the advice! Kisses too.

Although it seemed she was happy to be texting her boyfriend, behind the screen was a non existent smile.

"Why don't you text me daily? You only ask me how I'm doing." Nezuko sighed as she turned off her phone. She put on her slippers and walked to the kitchen. She then saw her brother, Tanjiro, on the phone, chatting with Kanao in a... loud voice.

"Umm... Tanjiro, can you please keep it down? Our siblings are sleeping." Tanjiro jumped and turned around to see his sister with a worried smile.

"Oh! Sorry, Nezuko! I'll head up, then. Goodnight!" Tanjiro said to Nezuko before running up the stairs to get to his room. She soon heard a door being shut.

"What a cute couple... always chatting with each other... Oh! I should call Rui!" Nezuko grabbed her phone from her pocket and dialed the number of her boyfriend. They had known each other since junior high, he was a year younger than her. Due to his intelligence, he was moved to Nezuko's grade. She accepted him as his girlfriend after he confessed to her about having liking her for a couple of months. She once liked him too, so she thought the old feelings would come back.

It kept dialing, Nezuko hoping he would pick up.

"Hello?" Nezuko gasped.

"Hi, Rui! I just wanted to know if you'd like to hang out this Satur-"

"Sorry, I'm busy right now, I'll text you later! Bye." Nezuko then looked at her phone, which showed her home screen.

"He... he hung up on me." Nezuko said, and soon, tears started forming. She shook her head, wiping them off before more would come out.

"Don't cry over a boy! Don't make men see you weak!" Nezuko grunted as she walked to her room, shut the door, and got ready for bed.

She was laying on her bed, blanket covered, but still couldn't sleep. Something kept her from sleeping. She then remembered what it was.

Zenitsu!

She turned on her phone and texted Zenitsu, who had been acting weird after she told him she had gotten a boyfriend. She didn't know what was wrong with him, so she was worried for his health.

Hi, Zenitsu! Sorry for not being able to text you! Are you feeling okay? You were acting different when you dropped me off at my house.

10 minutes later, there was still no reply. She started to get more worried. She then called him to make sure his phone was with him. It kept ringing until she heard a voice.

"This is Zenitsu Agatsuma."

"Zenitsu! I was getting worried when you didn't answer my te-"

"Sorry if I couldn't answer your call! Please leave a message! Bye now!" The call then ended.

"It... it was a voicemail." She never knew what his voicemail sounded like since he always answered her on time. She started to get more and more worried as time passed by. She had called at least 10 times. She ran to her brother's room.
