Ruhana smiled warmly as she handed the lunchbox to Vineet, a routine gesture that spoke volumes of their love and care for Aarav.
Exiting the house, Vineet hailed an auto from the bustling main road, his mind already filled with anticipation for the visit to Aarav's office. In just half an hour, he arrived at his destination, paying the auto driver before stepping out onto the familiar pavement.
A friendly nod from the watchman greeted him as he approached the entrance, a recognition that caught Vineet off guard. "Good noon, Vineet sir."
"Aap mujhe jaante hain?" he inquired, surprised by the watchman's familiarity.
"Haan, sir... Aarav sir ke father hain na aap," the watchman replied respectfully.
Vineet shook his head in mild disbelief before thanking the watchman and proceeding inside the building. Guided by the receptionist, he made his way to Aarav's office, stopping briefly to admire the nameplate proudly displaying "Aarav Vineet Raichand."
He knocked on the door and heard his son's response. "Please come in."
Vineet entered the room. "Papa, aap..." Aarav exclaimed, rising from his seat.
Approaching him, Vineet handed over the lunchbox with a smile. "Ye lo, maa ne bheja hai tumhari favorite dishes."
Accepting it gratefully, Aarav placed it on his desk before insisting, "Baithiye na."
"Nahi, kaam karo tum," Vineet attempted to decline, but Aarav gently persuaded him to take a seat. With a fatherly pride shining in his eyes, Vineet settled into the chair opposite Aarav, marveling at how far his son had come.
Vineet found himself lost in memories of Aarav's childhood, his heart swelling with affection for the remarkable young man before him.
"Papa, bas kuch der phir hum saath hi ghar nikal jayenge," Aarav suggested, prompting Vineet to send a quick message to Ruhana about their plans.
Vineet agreed and messaged Ruhana that he would return home in the evening along with Aarav.
Noticing his father's gaze, Aarav questioned, "Kya dekh rahe ho aap?"
"I am so proud of you, Aarav... Jo tumne mujhse 20 saal pehle kaha tha, wo karke dikhaya," Vineet replied, his pride evident in his voice.
Refuting his father's praise, Aarav insisted, "Nahi kar pata agar aap uss din mujhe godh mein uthake ghar nahin le jaate... Ye naam, ye success sab aapki wajah se hai, Papa. Warna main aaj bhi shayad sadak pe kuch bech raha hota."
Vineet stood and came closer. Aarav hugged him, keeping his head on his stomach and wrapping his hands around his waist. "Mujhe naya janam aapse mila hai."
Moved by his son's words, Vineet drew closer, wrapping Aarav in a warm embrace. "Aarav, maine wahi kiya jo mere dil ne kaha... Tumhe naya janam mila to humhe bhi toh hamara ek lauta beta mila," he whispered, his voice filled with emotion.
Returning the embrace, Aarav expressed his gratitude, his eyes shimmering with unshed tears. Their moment was interrupted by a colleague entering the room.
"Sir, ye aapne kaha tha, maine kar diya hai," the colleague said, delivering an envelope to Aarav.
Aarav took the envelope from his hands. "Thank you," he replied, and the colleague left the room.
Vineet inquired, "Kya hai ye?"
"US mein mera part-time job ka payment atka hua tha... Toh amount kal transfer hua hai. Maine FDs karwayi hain aapke naam pe, Maa ke aur Manvi ke," Aarav explained while opening it.
