{Monday September 2nd}
Seeing the stiff expression Chabashira-sensei wore on her face as she entered the classroom shortly after the bell rang, many students of Class C immediately took notice of her strangeness. There was a moment of cold silence before she began to talk.
"There is something that I need to inform you all." She spoke heavily.
"Originally, the school had plans for a special exam for you, second years, right before the Sports Festival started."
The Class - C's homeroom teacher revealed, which caused questions and murmurs from the students of the class while others were worried.
"However, that has now been changed." She explained to her students.
"Instead of an exam, a special event will be taking place. You, second years will be attending it along with the third and first years. Just like your previous test on the island, it will be undergone for fourteen days."
The monitor in front of the students then displayed the schedule for the next two weeks as they all carefully examined it.
There they noticed that their class today will only be until lunch break, which earned some cheerful feedback. Particularly from those that held the ranking of lowest in academic abilities.
Although, it is indeed a good news for the likes of them, the teacher's recent statements raised suspicions to others who were genuinely concerned and in doubt.
"Sensei, I would like to ask a few questions." Horikita Suzune was the first to raise her hand.
"Shoot, Horikita." Their teacher in front attentively answered.
"Would it be wise to assume grades won't be important in the event? Classes are being halved and that would pose a risk of expulsion to those of lower grades in our class."
Horikita raised a brow, trying to decipher whatever the school's scheming behind the scenes. Other students nodded in agreement to her, including Teruhiko Yukimura, as he held an A in academics.
As the others were busy figuring out the strange event their school was about to hold, Ike, along with Shinohara and others, shivered at the thought of expulsion.
"Fortunately, this event won't involve students getting expelled."
They started to cheer wildly.
"However, I'm only allowed to disclose this-" She interrupted sharply with a pause, filling the room with an intense atmosphere that silenced the once rowdy bunch.
"The event would heavily impact your understanding of the school and students."
As if a bomb was dropped, confusion and uneasiness made the students shift on their seats.
One of the leaders of the class, Hirata Yosuke, couldn't help but feel slightly shaken at what he heard of the last word.
No matter what is about to come, I know we can get through this together. It's just like what Kiyotaka told me, I'm not alone anymore.
He heaved a deep sigh inwardly while disregarding his anxious thoughts, and decided to trust himself and his classmates.
Because of their teacher's vague answer, Horikita wasn't satisfied, and so, she once again raised her hand.
"Chabashira-sensei, what you said regarding the school, could you elaborate more?" She tried pressing further, without any plans of backing down.
"Sensei, when you said students, won't this mean personal information might be uncovered?" Yukimura inquired along with her.
"But.. that would mean an invasion of privacy, right?"
After hearing Sato's retortion, Kushida slightly flinched. She hid her trembling hands in her sleeves before she tried to conciliate the uproars of her classmates that were in disbelief.
They started firing questions to the standing woman at the front.
No.. I have to keep my composure, there's no way this school would do something as absurd as revealing so much.
Kushida bit her lips, though in tremor, she continued to put up her facade.
They would not go as far as revealing someone's background, right?
Another hidden victim of the past, Karuizawa Kei tried to secretly glance back at her boyfriend, who looked at her reassuringly.
That's right, he promised.
She repeatedly calmed herself before she turned her eyes back to the front.
She wasn't the same bullied girl. She already broke away from those chains and was freed from it. She made new friends, and found someone she could love and depend on. The girl smiled slightly at the thought of him.
Their teacher was about to provide a certain answer to their many questions, when suddenly, the speaker in the hallway temporarily stopped the small chaos in class.
[MAY ALL STUDENTS GATHER AT THE GYMNASIUM IMMEDIATELY. THE BRIEFING OF THE SPECIAL EVENT WILL THEN BEGIN.]
"You'll have all your questions answered there. But for now, I'll give you a small hint."
Everyone in class had leaned closer to listen to their teacher's words.
"Keep your eyes open."
